Club Pilates – Do What You Love For Life

It’s that time of year again when resolutions are made, exercise programs are started, and we look ahead to new beginnings.  Some might say that making an exercise resolution is cliché and doomed to fail.  Well, not if Kristin and the team at Club Pilates have anything to do with it!  They believe that starting the New Year with new goals is a terrific plan and with Pilates being accessible for everyone, all excuses fly out the window!

Located in Thruway Shopping Center, Club Pilates is a vibrant, inclusive space with a mission statement that sums up their good energy:

“We believe that Pilates is the path to a fuller, more satisfying physical existence. We believe that being in control of your body helps you to be in control of your life. And best of all, we believe that you can start anytime.”

Club Pilates makes it easy to start by offering your first class for free! Taking advantage of a free class will allow you to experience how Pilates is so much more than just low-impact, full body workouts! Adding Pilates to your lifestyle, with classes that challenge both the body and mind, is sure to enrich your life well beyond the time you spend exercising.

Some benefits of a regular Pilates practice include:

  • Better balance and physical coordination
  • Increased muscle strength and tone
  • Mobility
  • Flexibility
  • Core strengthening
  • Improved posture
  • Increased lung capacity through deep breathing
  • Increased body awareness
  • Stress management and relaxation

Kristin, the owner of Club Pilates, says that they opened here “to make Pilates accessible to more people in the area with flexible class times, affordable memberships, and options for all levels from beginners to advanced.”

Naturally, offering a safe and clean environment is a priority for everyone at Club Pilates and steps are being taken to ensure cleanliness to help guests feel comfortable.  For example, each participant works with their own set of equipment, which is cleaned between each class, and (by coincidence) participant stations are each 6’ apart.   They have also added touchless check-in, state of the art sanitation processes, easy social distancing, and increased cleaning regimens.

Just call, email, or hop on to their website to book a free introductory class or get more information about Club Pilates’ full schedule, class types, levels, and teacher training.

Kristin, who transitioned from practicing yoga to Pilates, says that instead of having 9 to 5 “jobs,” becoming a Pilates teacher created an opportunity to do something that she was truly passionate about that is also fun, rewarding, and enjoyable. Understanding that others might also be looking for an energetic new start and seeing the new openings every day for teachers of this increasingly popular form of exercise, Club Pilates will begin two teacher training programs soon. One in January, and the second in early spring.

“I love having health, movement, and wellness at the center of my life. Transitioning to teaching Pilates has allowed me to have a steady and flexible schedule doing work that I really enjoy,” says Pilates instructor Kim.

In the Club Pilates teacher training program you will learn the techniques and skills to become a confident and talented Pilates instructor. Throughout the program you will work closely with the local Master Trainer as you study the individual exercises, practice teaching your peers, learn principles of movement, and how to effectively communicate your ideas and support your future students.  The “Comprehensive” program is 500 hours and it includes scheduled “In Studio Days” as well as self-paced online learning, practice teaching, observation hours, and assistant teaching.

Nicole, a Pilates Teacher says, “I had never even taken a Pilates class before I signed up for teacher training and I could not be more happy with the decision. The process was rigorous and thorough, but also very fun and rewarding. I have made a career out of teaching and never looked back. I love every second of it!”
