The View July 2019

Dear Readers,

Many of you know that just as we went to print with the June issue, my dad passed away. We were overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support we received and continue to receive. My dad was a vital part of the Forsyth Magazines team. He helped out in so many ways, especially with our distribution. Our family misses him so much. We just wanted to thank you again for all you did to help us celebrate his life and remember him.

With all that’s happened, it’s a reminder that sometimes friends become family. That’s certainly the case with the Forsyth Family publisher, Robin Bralley, who is like a sister to me. Our friendship goes WAAAAAAAAY back – to the time our children were babies! We’ve been through a lot the last few years, both of us have battled breast cancer, but I can say without a doubt, we are blessed beyond measure. Robin and I even share an almost-birthday. Mine is on July 15th, and hers is on the 16th. So it’s not uncommon for us to celebrate together, though this year is going to be a BIG one for me… the big 6-0.

My mom and Robin, both of whom are party-throwing gurus, are both disappointed that I declined their offer to host a big 60th party on my birthday… But I had the opportunity to host Forsyth Woman’s GNO on my birthday, and what can I say??? I want to celebrate with YOU! I hope our readers will make this our biggest GNO ever at Providence Restaurant on July 15th!

Besides being a milestone birthday, this will be my first alcohol-free birthday! I’ve gone alcohol-free in the last few months, and feel better than ever. Details are in my new column starting next month.

Please be sure to read our cover story this month about Piedmont Advantage Credit Union, our long-time friends, and advertising partners! We are so excited to feature them!

As always, thank you for reading! Please be sure to let our advertisers know that you saw their ads and stories in this issue. We can’t do what we do without them, and your feedback is priceless to them!
