In Charles Dickens’ Christmas classic, “A Christmas Carol,” Ebenezer Scrooge finally comes to realize the importance of Christmas. After meeting with the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present, and Future, he says, “I will honour Christmas in my heart, and try to keep it all the year.” Why should we celebrate the spirit of Christmas one day a year? Let it live throughout!
Yes, I know it’s February. I haven’t lost my mind. But when I think of Valentine’s Day, I feel the same way as Scrooge. To a similar way of thinking, why should the idea of demonstrating our love be relegated to February 14th? Let’s live the spirit of love every day of the year, not just on Valentine’s Day.
As you celebrate with your loved ones, let’s all remember the importance of showing our significant others and family how much they mean to us every day. Not just on Valentine’s. Roses are optional, but romance and love can take so many different forms. From a note tucked into a lunchbox to a random text to let someone know you’re thinking of them. Let’s let love blossom every day this year!
So with that said – Happy Valentine’s Day! We love our readers and we love our advertisers; we appreciate each one of you who allow us to do what we love, day in and day out! We hope you know how grateful we are for you, especially every month as we prepare a new issue with you in mind!
And speaking of advertisers, our cover story this month is Mellie & Emilia – a locally owned and operated retail shop you’re going to love! Their story is one that truly touches our hearts. The owners came up with the idea to start the boutique at one of our monthly GNO events! We always say big things can happen on Girls’ Night Out and this is one of our favorites! We are excited to feature them on this month’s cover, especially as they prepare to celebrate their one-year anniversary this spring!
Because February is focused on heart matters, and heart health is a real concern for millions of Americans, we’ve got that covered. This is Go Red month, and for years Forsyth Woman has been a proud sponsor of the American Heart Association’s annual heart-healthy awareness campaign. We hope that you will check out the article on page 50, submitted by our friends at AHA. Take care of your hearts, friends! It’s never too early to start making heart-healthy changes!
So far, 2018 is off to a great start and we hope you and your loved ones are blessed and prosperous this year; we are certainly blessed that you allow us to be a part of your lives! Thank you for reading!
