Tucker, Dr. Hampton A. Howell and their amazing team — are known for creating a game plan customized to each individual, and always looking forward to educating themselves and their patients on every new opportunity for improvement! As summer approaches, the team focuses on the latest in laser hair removal, and updates you on Emsculpt NEO, a non-invasive approach to making sure you are summer ready!

Candela Gentle Max Pro

Aesthetic Nurse Jade Simmons describes the incredible ease and benefits of Candela Gentle Max Pro. “The Gentle Max Pro is the leading system for laser hair removal treatments, with up to 80% permanent hair reduction in patients of all skin types — with the appropriate hair color,” Jade explains. “The treatment does work best on darker hair colors.”

In addition to hair removal, the Gentle Max Pro can treat pigmented areas such as age spots or sun damage, diffuse redness and vascular lesions, such as broken capillaries, and also reduce wrinkles.

“The Candela Gentle Max Pro has two separate laser wavelengths (the Alexandrite-755nm laser and the Nd. Yag-1064 laser), that allow us to  provide multiple different treatments for skin types I through VI on the Fitzpatrick skin-type scale,” adds Jade.

When making an appointment for one of the laser hair removal procedures, you’ll first schedule a consultation to assess your area of concern, to make sure you’re a good candidate, and likely to see results. Your medical history is also reviewed to make sure there are no contraindications to the treatment.

Laser hair removal is typically scheduled every four to eight weeks, based on the area of the body and different hair growth cycles. The laser treats the hair that’s in its growth cycle at the time of treatment. In seven to 21 days post-treatment, the hair will start to fall out, and once this step is complete the area should be hair-free for three to four weeks leading up to the next treatment. With any laser treatment, it’s best to avoid sun exposure for four to six weeks prior to treatment, and avoid sunless tanners or spray tans two to three weeks prior.

Emsculpt NEO

The Salem Plastic Surgery & Renewal Med Spa team is especially excited to introduce patients to Emsculpt NEO, a breakthrough non-invasive body shaping process that simultaneously delivers heat and magnetic energy. That combined 30-minute session can result in more fat reduction and more muscle growth. With four, 30-minute treatments scheduled once a week, this is the world’s first and only technology using Radiofrequency and HIFEM+ (high-intensity focused electromagnetic field) to build muscle and eliminate fat non-invasively.

Emsculpt NEO feels much like an intense workout with a warming sensation in the treated area, and patients can lie down and relax during the treatment. Some results may be visible right away, and positive results are usually reported two to four weeks after the last session, and continuing for several weeks following treatment. As you can always expect at Salem Plastic Surgery & Renewal Med Spa, treatments are individually tailored to each patient’s needs, for various body parts. There’s no downtime (always a plus!), and no anesthesia, and Emsculpt NEO is appropriate for the abdomen, buttocks, inner thighs, outer thighs, front thighs, back thighs, biceps, triceps, and calves.
