Since 1964 when Nitsa Bambalis, founder, opened a custom-made clothing and alterations shop above the family-owned Recreation Billiards on Fourth Street, Nitsa’s Apparel has been attracting discriminating, fashion-conscious patrons. For over 50 years, Nitsa’s has been known as a haven for women of style who are searching for chic and timeless classic looks in a place of beauty and joy. To the casual observer, it is abundantly clear from the moment you walk into the luxurious, full-service boutique that the consultants are not only highly knowledgeable and experienced, but they are a tight-knit family who considers their customers family, too! Chris Bambalis: Co-owner and Manager, Bridal Salon

Chris has been helping brides transform their wedding daydreams into realities for two decades. Upon entering the new bridal salon through the gorgeous etched glass French doors for the very first time, senses are on overload in this bridal wonderland. An abundance of natural light streams in as sunbeams dance across the pristine white hardwood floors as the eye is drawn to a stunning flower wall – Chris’ 3:00 a.m. inspiration as the finishing touch to this stylish and enchanting space. Many shapes, sizes, and shades of white and ivory are represented in this vertical floral arrangement, which showcases hundreds of intricately designed paper flowers among the nearly 70 handmade silk flowers. “The variety of flowers represents the diversity of dreams brides have for their special day,” says Chris. Although the pandemic has dashed or postponed many elaborate wedding plans, Chris’ optimism and creative energy have helped many brides embrace change, reimagine their special day, and keep the focus on the real meaning of the occasion.

Allison Anderson: Manager of Sportswear and Social Occasion 

For over two decades, Allison has been a familiar face at Nitsa’ Apparel. She has built a rapport with hundreds of patrons across time, and her kindness, honesty, and trust keep them coming back. As a seasoned style professional with a high level of taste, Allison understands that women like to express their own distinct personalities through fashion, and she is there to help them do just that. Whether customers are shopping for a great looking, quality dress, a well-constructed pant, or a glamorous social occasion or mother of the bride or groom dress, she desires to help women look their very best. Even though there are limited social events to attend until COVID-19 is eradicated, she understands the value of freshening up a wardrobe with a new top, piece of jewelry, scarf, or handbag, and with a plethora of options, customers will have no trouble finding the perfect accessory to complement any outfit.

One of the newest additions to the Nitsa’s family, Millie has been on board for two years. It is highly likely that she will be the first face you see when you enter the store, and you can count on a warm greeting and a big, beautiful smile. Millie enjoys helping patrons discover all that Nitsa’s Apparel has to offer and is adept at making recommendations for pulling together an outfit that is always on-trend. Nitsa’s Apparel has a large social media presence thanks in large part to Millie, who keeps FaceBook and Instagram postings current, informative, and fun!

One of the many perks for Nitsa’s customers is the in-house alterations department that is always available to make any adjustments needed to ensure an excellent fit every time. With over 75 years of collective experience among the highly talented seamstresses, customers can trust that all work is done with care, excellence, and attention to detail.
