Jenna Smith-Parker
Jenna Smith-Parker is the Co-Founder and Assistant Director of Monkey’s Wish Foundation, a nonprofit she launched alongside her fiancé in honor of their beloved ferret, Dook—affectionately known as Monkey—who passed away after battling Disseminated Idiopathic Myofasciitis (DIM). Her passion for animal welfare extends well beyond her nonprofit work. In 2020, Jenna founded Foster/Adopt North Carolina, an advocacy community dedicated to rescuing shelter animals across the Southeast from euthanasia. She is a committed “adopt, don’t shop” advocate and strongly supports spay and neuter initiatives.
Jenna graduated Cum Laude from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and a minor in psychology. Soon to be married to a Marine Corps veteran, she shares her home with six ferrets—Maddie, Hattie, Happy, Banjo, BB, and Meeps—and two dogs, Rose and Doppler, all of whom inspire her mission every day.
