The View: May 2019

Happy Mother’s Day! Whether you are a mom, have a mom, or are a mother-figure – this is a great month to celebrate moms in every season of life!  A special shout out to my own mother, Marianne Schuler!  I’ve had a lifetime of support and encouragement from her, and I’m so blessed to call her Mom!  And to the other special women in my life – I hope you have a wonderful day!

If you’re looking for the perfect gift for Mom, we have our annual Mother’s Day Gift Guide on pages 68 – 71.  I love these gift guides!  It’s so much fun to see the unique and wonderful pieces that are available in our community.  As you know, we have a special place in our hearts for the shop small, shop local movement, so these items represent just that!

Also – the spring | summer issue of FW Engagedis published this month! We are always excited about our biannual wedding magazine.  If you or someone you know is planning a wedding, please be sure to pick up a copy! My daughter is responsible for this magazine and she does a beautiful job with it!
On a personal note, things are going well for me!  I hope you’ll read the story my daughter wrote on page 40 because…  I RANG THE BELL!  I’m officially finished with my cancer treatments and I’m so thankful to have that behind me.  The ringing of the bell was drowned out by the cheers of so many I love and who took care of me during this season!   I won’t go on here because Brooke has shared all the details, but to say I’m thankful feels completely inadequate to what’s in my heart.  Overwhelmingly grateful is getting closer…

Other news – Tim continues to heal and grow stronger.  I’m grateful for the ongoing prayers that have been lifted up on his behalf. Please continue to keep us both in your prayers.  It’s been a wild and crazy few months for us, and he is still working his way back to 100%. Your prayers matter!

I’m looking forward to seeing many of you on May 9th at The Grille at the Glen for this month’s GNO! It’s always fun at The Grille, and hopefully, we’ll have some great weather so we can enjoy their fabulous outdoor dining!

This is a busy time of year for so many – between prom, graduation, Mother’s Day, and just the opportunity to enjoy spring!  There are a ton of great events going on and we have many listed in our Calendar of Events! Get out there and enjoy our beautiful community!  We are grateful that you have chosen to pick up and read Forsyth Woman!  It’s an honor to be a part of your life every month.  Please be sure to support our advertisers who make these magazines possible every month…  and be sure to tell them that you saw them in this month’s issue!
