The 2020 Tour de Boutique

BY DENISE HEIDEL

2020 has been a difficult year, to say the least. I know, I know – way to state the obvious, right? However, besides all the obvious challenges we’ve faced, one of the side-effects of 2020 has been the cancellation of so many amazing events we have looked forward to. One such event that was teetering on the edge of uncertainty was the Forsyth Woman Tour de Boutique. For ten years, Forsyth Woman has hosted shopping trips. Sometimes annual. Sometimes biannual. Sometimes we called it a Consignment Shop Hop. And sometimes we called it Tour de Boutique. Always, we called it fun. It is a non-stop day of shopping fun that many look forward to year after year.

And our team was determined to figure out a way to still host Tour de Boutique! The 2020 Edition (TDB 2020) has required some major creative, outside-the-box thinking, but we have a plan! We are still committed to shopping! Stimulating the local economy (now, more important than ever)! And having fun with our family and friends!

Unfortunately, we did cancel our bus since there was no way we could travel as normal and offer social distancing. But, we’ve come up with Plan B! There are two options to participate in the TDB 2020:

  1. A caravan option.  For this option, shoppers will meet at a central meeting spot, and we’ll caravan our way from store to store.
  2. A self-guided tour option.  For this option, shoppers will be given a suggested route based on regional starting points to help these shoppers minimize their driving time as they shop at their own pace.

We are very excited about this, and the response we’ve gotten has been phenomenal. The stores are excited that we’re still offering a way to keep this event alive, and the shoppers are already registering! Everyone is excited that a solution has been found that will keep them safe and comfortable while still having fun! Win!

Even though we do not have seats for which to RSVP, we are still requesting registration. The shopper fee is $40, and that fee is going to include the shopper’s choice of either a zip-up hoodie sweatshirt OR a crew neck sweatshirt. Both options have the Forsyth Woman logo on them in a pretty shade of heather grey, and are exclusive for our Tour de Boutique shoppers!

A $10 lunch voucher* to Midtown Cafe & Dessertery is also included in the shopper fee! Our shoppers can enjoy lunch on our shopping day, or save the voucher to use another time.

As always, door prizes reign throughout the day. The more stores our shoppers visit, the more opportunities they have to win!

Shoppers will be able to pick up their hoodies/sweatshirts, as well as their TDB 2020 packages before the trip at a location to be determined. We will notify our shoppers by September 28th about the pick-up location.

So, you’re probably thinking – this all sounds great! But WHEN is the Tour de Boutique?! Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 3rd! This year’s Tour de Boutique is going to look different, but we’re confident that it’s going to be another extraordinary shopping adventure! Online registration is open now at TinyUrl.com/2020TDB. If you’re interested in participating in this year’s Tour de Boutique, please register by September 13th, so we have time to order your hoodie / sweatshirt!
