Families gather together in different ways — over a variety of occasions – but there’s always incredible food involved. We all have certain dishes and desserts that bring back memories and make us feel “at home” no matter where we may land. From those catch-up family suppers during the week, to birthdays, graduations, and extended holidays, getting together around the table is always something special.
As a family-owned business in Clemmons, Simply Southern Cuisine has honored its name every single day for over ten years, with a popular menu that gives “food to go” an entirely different meaning. No fast-food hangover here, just the freshest ingredients blended together in tried-and-true recipes customers can’t seem to order enough of.
From portion sizes that are just right for your family’s weeknight dinner, to a catering menu that includes choices for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and even appetizers, one of the most important ingredients in Simply Southern Cuisine’s successful recipe is impeccable customer service.
“What sets us apart is our customer service, and that we genuinely care about making our customers’ lives easier by solving their issues with “What’s for dinner?” says owner Lisa Miller. “Our food is handmade, and we make every effort to be consistent in our preparation of every dish.”
“New this season, we have added a new point of sale system and a new loyalty program, as well as gift cards,” says Lisa. “The new loyalty program gives customers one point for every dollar spent, including an app for your phone that shows all your receipts from Simply Southern, and the points you have accumulated.”
She adds that gift cards can be purchased for any denomination – and certainly make wonderful Christmas gifts!
That’s excellent news as the holiday season approaches, and after-work hours are dedicated to shopping and festive get-togethers, and not so much to spending time in the kitchen. November and December are perfect months to sample some of their specialties in individual servings (stop by on your way home!), or mix and match entrees and sides (including vegetarian and gluten-free options upon request) and keep your family happy, healthy, and well-fed amid the holiday bustle!
If you’re the Thanksgiving or Christmas Day hostess this year, Simply Southern offers complete meal packages for six people, or 15 people, which includes ham and/or turkey, three side dishes (yes, they have traditional stuffing, green bean casserole and sweet potato casserole!) and a selection of one of their more-than-incredible desserts.
“These dinners are available by ordering ahead of time, and can be picked up fresh or frozen,” says Lisa. “Both Thanksgiving and Christmas menus are available online or for pickup at our store.”
Simply Southern also offers all of their family-size meal items in a larger 9 x 11 pan, which typically yields 15-20 servings, along with specific catering menus for office holiday parties of ten or more people.
Now for the best idea we’ve heard lately. Once the holiday rush has settled a bit and the New Year approaches, your college students will be heading back to campus and no doubt already missing the comfort foods of home!
“Our individual servings are ideal for sending food back with your college student,” explains Lisa. “All of our menu items are available in single-serving size, and for extra hungry fellows, you might consider the 7” size which is enough for two or three servings!”
In case you were wondering, Simply Southern’s top favorite best sellers are Chicken Pie, Swiss Chicken, Baked Spaghetti, Lasagna, Macaroni and Cheese, and Broccoli Casserole. We’ll be right over!
