Purpose Push: Are You Aligned?

As we get ready for the New Year, we can experience a multitude of emotions, from excitement to anxiousness to being nonchalant.

I believe how we feel about the New Year, along with any other milestones, is an indicator of how aligned we are with our life’s purpose. From what I’ve experienced and observed in others, the more you are aligned, the more you welcome what’s to come.

Alignment doesn’t mean everything in your journey is easy but it does mean you are equipped to get through it with the least resistance. This is because God is with you and pleased with your decision-making so He continues to bless you with the resources to continue shining your light. It’s a beautiful and almost magical, or supernatural, experience because you can look around and see an overflow of divine fruit. The Bible lists the benefits of being in alignment in Galatians 5:22-23, “the Holy Spirit produces this kind fruit in our lives: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.”

It’s wise to reflect on past events to make even wiser decisions as you strive to bring new desires and goals to fruition. The liberating thing about alignment is it is always accessible. Think of yourself as a car, oftentimes we know we need an alignment because the steering wheel veers to the right or left as we’re driving. Many of us, however, don’t take the car to the shop until there’s a different issue that needs immediate attention and as we’re getting the work done, most auto shops offer an alignment for free! We may not think much of the free add-on but a properly aligned vehicle has a smoother ride, optimal gas mileage, and extended tire life. That means you go further for longer when you are aligned. This is no different from us as humans and, in our case, God is the auto shop.

When you need an alignment, you can pull into His shop, hand Him the keys, and trust the professional. Psalms 55:22 says, “Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall.”

Realistically, surrendering looks like praying, studying the Word, and actually doing what it says.
Since we’re rolling with the car analogy, the Bible is your manual to function as purposed. But, like a car manual, our Bible can remain unopened. Then, when we run into an issue, we’re perplexed on how to fix it but the answers have always been in the book. The manual, or the Bible, has thought of every problem that may arise and has a solution.

I don’t want us to go through life with hooptie dreams because we aren’t taking the time to read the manual! If you aren’t seeing the fruit mentioned in Galatians 5:22-23 then you must evaluate your alignment. This ultimately influences the success of your business. Even if you put your best effort into separating business from personal, there will be crossover because the common denominator is you

When you’re in alignment, work doesn’t feel like work and you can effortlessly flow from one task to the next without feeling exhausted, frustrated, or forced.

You have the tools and if you don’t feel it, meditate on 2 Peter 2-3. Let’s upgrade our lives by getting in alignment. I have faith in you.
