A Magical Holiday Tradition: UNCSA’s “Nutcracker”

It’s beginning to look a lot like the holidays! Decorations are being prepared for display, children are beginning to make their wish lists, and the UNC School of the Arts is hard at work on the most cherished of local holiday events: “The Nutcracker!” Presented by Wells Fargo, the 2018 production of “The Nutcracker” is one of the most-anticipated and magical holiday traditions in the Triad.

The UNCSA acclaimed production of “The Nutcracker” will feature ten performances December 7-16 at the Stevens Center in downtown Winston-Salem.  The heralded ballet has received rave reviews from critics and enthusiastic audiences since the reimagining of the production by former Dean of the UNC School of the Arts’ School of Dance Ethan Stiefel.

“Our annual production of ‘The Nutcracker’ showcases some of the finest talents at UNCSA and engages a broad spectrum of our community with beautiful music, superb performances, and excellent stagecraft,” said UNCSA Vice Chancellor of Strategic Communications Claire Machamer. “We are honored to be supported by one of the leading financial institutions in America through our partnership with Wells Fargo.”

The full performance schedule for the UNCSA production of “The Nutcracker” is Dec. 7, 8, and 12-15 at 7:30 p.m.; and Dec. 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 2 p.m.
