Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons 2021

BY DENISE HEIDEL

Last year, thanks to generous sponsorships from Novant Health, Marzano Capital Group, Allegacy Federal Credit Union, and Wells Fargo, the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Clemmons Community Foundation, along with a team of hardworking council members, launched Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons (LLC).  This program is designed to groom future leaders in the community, foster community growth, and of course, personal and professional networking.  The first year program featured a dynamic inaugural class of professionals who were bold enough to take a leap of faith into unchartered territory.  Their invaluable input has made it possible for the program to grow and improve for future classes.

Unfortunately, the arrival of COVID brought this first year to an abrupt halt.  The class completed the program online, and despite the interruption, it was well-received.  Those who participated have proven to be enthusiastic supporters and advocates, including several who have since joined the planning council.

As conversation began around Year 2 of Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons, and after careful consideration, the LLC Council decided that the wisest course of action would be to delay the second year start date until January 2021.  Every program day will be designed with the hope of meeting in person, with an appropriate amount of social distancing. But, a Plan B option is being developed in the event the program needs to go online.

This program is an important part of our community.  It is designed to help those with a vested interest in Lewisville and Clemmons to understand the ins and outs of the communities and develop key leadership skills.  Another primary objective is to grow the community network.

Registration for Leadership Lewisville-Clemmons 2021 is now open; the application can be found at TinyURL.com/ApplyLLC2021.  The cost is $675 to Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber members and $800 for non-members.  Tuition is inclusive of training and interactive programming for each day, leadership assessment tools, and a graduation reception.  There is a $50 application fee.  The application period will close on November 13th and applicants will be notified by November 30th about their placement in the program.
