Kitchen Tune-Up: Custom Cabinets for your Favorite Home Space!

Brightening the most important space in your home is a task the experts at Kitchen Tune-Up take to heart every single day. With stylish ideas and a strong emphasis on customer service, owners Peter and Rebecca Mahoney have built a team to guide every step of your kitchen updating project!

Kick off your kitchen “tune up” with their free in-home or virtual consultation, and you’ll be on the way to a refreshed kitchen that’s ready for family to gather and make new memories. Known for respect, dependability, and always searching for cost-effective solutions, the experts at Kitchen Tune-Up can even provide a “one-day tune up” – renewing wood cabinets by removing built-up dirt and grease – or a new paint job and fresh doors for your existing cabinets. But if you’re dreaming a bit bigger, talk to them about a complete kitchen re-do, including custom cabinets!

Creating an entirely new and fresh look for your kitchen can be an exciting project (and a fun one!) with the help of the company’s Virtual Kitchen Design Tool. You’ll see the stylish possibilities right before your eyes, and knowing you’re in expert hands makes a big project seem much less daunting.

“At the initial consultation we’re looking to get a feel for our clients and their lifestyle,” explains Peter. “We want to know who will be using the kitchen and how it will be used most often, and there’s a questionnaire we use to compile all that important information. For example, who in the family is the main food preparer? Is that person right- or left-handed? Tall or short? Is the kitchen used mostly for everyday meals, or more for entertaining a larger group? This provides the designer all they need to finish with a kitchen built specially for that person or family.”

While some styles of cabinets require a longer preparation time than others, he estimates generally a three to six week lead time for custom cabinets. Installation, depending on size and scope, could be anywhere from five to 10 working days.

“The design tool is great!” says Peter. “This is something a client can play with prior to even setting an appointment. It’s very user-friendly, and for folks who may feel a bit technically challenged, a tutorial is provided.”

Here’s how it works: A customer can choose a generic kitchen layout from several different choices, then select details such as door style, colors, and countertops. The tool updates the layout with each selection, so you see each change throughout the process in a 3D rendering.

“This is also something we could do together at our in-home appointment with the client,” says Peter. “We can do what makes the client feel most comfortable.”

And going the extra step, the Kitchen Tune-Up team is also well-versed in accessories and organizers for your brand new custom cabinets, helping keep clutter to a minimum and efficiency at a maximum. Ask about options for roll-out trays, spice racks, roll-out waste and recycling containers, and super convenient drawer organizers to complete your wonderful new cooking and living space!
