Kinnaman’s Furniture Transforms into Your Home Marketplace

When you are shopping for home furniture and decor, you want to find pieces that fit your unique style. For the last 22 years, Michelle and Nikki Kinnaman have been co-owners of Kinnaman’s Furniture on Stratford Road. This mother-daughter team has built a wonderful business bringing unique furniture and decor to the people of this community. And even though they still had a great business with a very strong following, Nikki was ready to retire. Nikki said, “I have loved being a part of this business for the last 22 years, but it is time for me to enjoy my retirement. Michelle, my daughter, still wants to keep the spirit of Kinnaman’s alive, but has the vision to update the space and bring a unique marketplace experience to this community.” And what a vision it is.
Since Kinnaman’s Furniture was such a popular place that everyone loved, lots of people were very sad to see it go, but Your Home Marketplace does not disappoint. Michelle’s concept is truly unique, and there are pieces of Kinnaman’s throughout the Marketplace. Michelle said, “We wanted to create a place where we could bring together quality curated vendors and national and local artisans – to provide a place where you could find quality furniture, home decor, artwork and gifts that would be unique to an individual’s sense of style. We also kept five vendor spaces for Kinnaman’s Furniture so people who have loved and supported us for 22 years could continue to find the quality pieces, at exceptional prices, that they have come to expect from the Kinnaman name.” And that is exactly what they have done!
When you walk into the new Your Home Marketplace, you will be instantly impressed by the updated style of the shop. They have embraced a bright, fresh, farmhouse style with light colors and shiplap walls. The space itself is quite beautiful. What looks like a quaint space from the front of the building is actually 11,000 square feet of space. It is so much bigger than you would think, and is now filled with 69 vendors, each one more unique than the last. As you move through the space, you can’t help but notice the variety of offerings that are available.
Michelle was careful to select vendors who each bring a unique quality to the marketplace. They all come together to create a community that works together like a family and have created a space that feels like home. If you are looking for furniture and home decor, you will find quality items in many styles, including Farm House, Southern Traditional, Classic Vintage, and Vintage Modern. In addition to beautiful furniture pieces and decor, there is a variety of artwork available. You will find lots of local artists from painters and photographers to seasonal crafters. There are paintings of local places, original art, handmade wreaths for all seasons, handmade soaps and candles and much, much more. One vendor space is dedicated to handmade pet clothing and gifts, while another features the most beautifully unique handcrafted critters. There are a few vendors who bring in items you can purchase from around the world. A vendor offers handmade African baskets of which a portion of the proceeds goes directly to help women prosper in Africa. Michelle wants you to know, at Your Home Marketplace, there is something for everyone. “We have such a unique experience in store for you here. We can help you find furniture, home decor, and gifts for everyone. If there is something special you are looking for, you will probably find it here.”
Your Home Marketplace Christmas Open House is Saturday, November 9th, from 10 am to 6 pm. Plan on joining them for door prizes and vendor specials.
