Do you ever wonder how someone goes from obscurity to the top of their profession in five years? Well, you need look no further than your own backyard to find local businesswoman, entrepreneur, and medical spa phenom Marisa Faircloth. Although she opened Restoration MedSpa in 2016, she will tell you that while her success feels meteoric, she has worked hard in her profession for more than 35 years.

The youngest person to ever graduate from Wake Forest University’s Bowman Gray School of Medicine PA program back in the 1980s, Marisa went on to work with the most gifted and notable plastic surgeons and dermatologists in the region. And that is what makes her so good at what she does. She really knows her way around faces. And, she’s considered one of the top injectors in the country, having been named to Allergan’s top 1%. There’s also the ethical way she runs her practice in an industry that isn’t known for its ethics.

“I respect this industry and what it can offer to anyone seeking to improve their appearance and build their confidence,” says Marisa. “But I get frustrated that so many put their faith in underperforming providers who give them disappointing outcomes.”

And, according to Marisa, this happens a lot. “It’s an elective services industry, so you have practitioners getting into it when they don’t have the time nor the inclination of keeping up with all the new and transformative techniques,” continues Marisa. “And believe me, there are so many regular innovations in this field – medical devices, services, and techniques that it can be confusing to know which is the best service that is right for any one person. Our customized approach at Restoration MedSpa can make anyone look and feel their best.”

Restoration MedSpa definitely lives up to its reputation of being the most forward-thinking practice by always investing in the latest and greatest tools. Marisa is constantly following trends and she’s a stickler for doing the due diligence when a new medical device or service enters the market. Restoration MedSpa was the first to offer CoolTone®, the first non-invasive muscle toning technology; Agnes®, an innovative radiofrequency microneedling device to treat any skin type; CoolSculpting Elite®, the most powerful body sculpting and fat reducing system; and Qwo®, the first of its kind injectable for reducing cellulite.

Plus, Marisa has recently written a book, Empowered by Beauty: A Testament for Unleashing Self-confidence, which is expected on bookshelves later this year. “It’s really the story of my life,” says Marisa. “But, it’s steeped in the lessons the medical aesthetics industry has taught me. People – and especially women – should not be embarrassed or ashamed for seeking out treatments that make them feel better and increase their self-confidence. It’s simply another wellness practice. I wrote this book to help readers understand that principle, but I also wrote it to help others understand how success is achieved in any industry.”
