Brooke Notes: Publisher’s Perspective

November 13th is “World Kindness Day,” and I think we could all stand to be a little more kind. Whether it’s when someone cuts you off while driving or the tone in your response to a coworker, kindness is always the right choice. Jean Marie wrote a fabulous article on this topic—you can read it HERE.
This month we’re featuring the owner of Carolina Vintiques on our cover! Shelle is one awesome lady and she’s curated a store that is well worth the visit. In fact, Carolina Vintiques recently won an award for the best antique store in Clemmons! I’ve come to really enjoy antiques and thrifting recently. My home is over 100 years old and I love mixing antiques with a touch of modern. And shopping at local antique shops is another way to support local businesses! Read all about Carolina Vintiques HERE!
Speaking of shopping local, we had a fabulous Tour de Boutique event this past month and our shoppers were introduced to several new local stores, just in time for the holidays. We are already thinking about some exciting ideas for next year, so if you haven’t been on a tour before, please join us – it’s a truly win-win situation for shoppers and local businesses.
We’re thrilled to have an absolutely wonderful line up of Girls’ Night Out events coming up! Go ahead and get out your calendar and save the dates for ALL of these:
Wednesday November 8th at Bermuda Run Country Club
Thursday December 7th at the Mulberry Table (connected to Fiddle & Fig)
Tuesday February 13th will be a special Galentine’s Day GNO event at Robert Hall!
If you’ve never been to a Girls’ Night Out event, you are in for a treat! We started GNO over 15 years ago with a mission in mind: a designated night on the calendar to spend with your mom, your sister, and/or your girlfriends. It’s not a networking event, but a much-needed time to relax and catch up with your girls. It’s always fun to see the same groups of women that have been coming for years along with brand new ladies each and every month. We always post photos from our GNO events on our Facebook and Instagram pages! You can find us at @forsythmags on both platforms and be sure to subscribe to our newsletter at forsythwoman.com to be the first to know about ALL of our upcoming events!
This issue contains our first (of two) Holiday Gift Guides for 2023! Check out pages 80-83 for all the local gift ideas! Interested in participating in our December gift guide? Email me to grab your spot! Brooke@forsythmags.com.
Wishing you a November full of kindness and gratitude!

Until next month,
B
