5 Reasons You Don’t Want to Miss Empty Bowls this Year

One.

You can choose your date. Of course, you have always been able to choose who you go with, but now you can choose when to go—and include the whole family. Second Harvest is bringing back the Empty Bowls Dinner in addition to the traditional luncheon because your schedule is, well, busy.

Two.

It’s the place to be. Empty Bowls brings together top local chefs and artists with people like you who want to help fight hunger in our community. Chefs prepare delicious soup with their favorite fresh ingredients and local artists create beautiful, handmade bowls for each Empty Bowls guest to take home as a symbolic reminder of the purpose behind this highly anticipated and well-attended annual fundraiser.

Three.

You can wear your dancing shoes. Second Harvest is bringing back the North Carolina-based and very talented one-man-band Adam Pitts as the live entertainment for both the dinner and the lunch this year!

Four.

The Empty Bowls Signature Soup. Second Harvest’s Providence Restaurant will once again be preparing a signature soup…and they can’t wait for you (and the judges in the “Favorite Empty Bowls Soup” competition) to taste it.

Five.

A great cause. You need to catch up with friends and feed your soul…AND… helping to make sure every family has food for their table matters to you. All proceeds raised at Empty Bowls supports Second Harvest’s mission work, providing food for today, and hope for tomorrow through innovative programs, including the nationally recognized Providence Culinary Training program.
