Women on the Move; October 2024

Erin Shields is the owner of Gilded Swan Boutique. “I established Gilded Swan Boutique in November of 2022 after longing to become a stay-at-home mom with more flexibility. I turned my dreams of entrepreneurship into becoming a boutique owner after deciding to walk away from my corporate job of nearly 15 years, and Gilded Swan Boutique was born! I currently do pop-up shops all over the state and am also a National Sponsor with the Miss High School America Organization, Miss Royalty USA, Miss Universe United Miss and A Crown Above National pageants.” Erin has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from NC State University. “I love shopping and getting glam! I believe that you are never too old to play dress-up! My family is my world – my husband, John, and I are high school sweethearts, and have four beautiful children together – Parker, Peyton, Owen and Lillie.”

Heather Moretz is a licensed esthetician and the owner of Esthetics by Heather. She is certified in Dermaplaning, Microdermabrasion, Microneedling, Chemical Peels, CrystalFrax Radiofrequency, Bellatrix BellOxy (Bohr Effect), Hydrodermabrasion, Lash Lift & Brow Lamination. She attended Davidson-Davie Community College. “I am a passionate and experienced esthetician dedicated to providing top-notch skincare services to enhance my clients’ natural beauty. With two years in the industry, I specialize in customized facials, advanced skincare treatments and face and body contouring. I believe in creating a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for every client, tailored to their unique skincare needs. My goal is to help each individual feel confident and radiant in their own skin. When I’m not in the treatment room, I am constantly researching the latest skincare trends and techniques to ensure my clients receive the best care possible. I have two amazing children, Katelynn is 14 and Luke is 23. In our free time, we enjoy going to the beach, being outside and attending all the sporting events.”

Kristen Clark is a board certified physician assistant in a well-established orthopedic practice here in Winston-Salem. “When I became a PA, I knew I would have a lifelong meaningful career helping others, and I have loved serving patients in the Triad.  When I chose orthopedics, I knew it would allow me to use my hands to practice medicine on a daily basis. In the same light, I was drawn to aesthetics as another landscape to use my hands to help patients in a new way – one that comes alongside busy women to help them feel like the best versions of themselves. For me, concierge aesthetics meets women where they are – both literally and figuratively – to carve out the “me time” that often gets prioritized last in a busy household. As a provider with Skin Clique, I have the opportunity to provide high quality aesthetic care in the comfort of your own home, and I would be honored to partner with you in creating a personalized skincare routine or to provide regular Botox treatments to help you look and feel your best. As the saying goes, ‘look good, feel good, do good.’”

Nicci Staton is the founder and CEO of NDKS Socials. She launched the business in 2023 after 10 years in online social selling. NDKS launched accidentally with a friend asking for her help with the social media launch for a new local Women’s Only Movement, Sugar Mamas. From there, the company naturally was birthed with referrals coming in faster than she could keep up. Nicci’s passion is to help create beautiful things, and that is seen in every aspect of her life from social media and years of online makeup tutorials to her hobby of home decorating and furniture flipping. Nicci’s biggest flex is helping her clients feel confident on camera and, with that, her clients are seeing, on average, 200% growth in their social media presence. She has a bachelor’s degree in biblical studies, a PhD hubby who is pursuing church planting and four amazing kiddos that keep her busy. She’s also a proud baseball mama. In her limited free time, she enjoys working out, antiquing and redecorating her home.

Brea Brown focuses her educational and personal energies on community service with emphasis on uplifting youth. A Winston-Salem native and graduate of Winston-Salem Preparatory Academy, she holds a doctorate in occupational therapy from Howard University and a B.S. in exercise physiology from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. As part of her university studies, Brea led a research effort on the social-emotional wellbeing of children with incarcerated parents and studied abroad in Ghana, West Africa. “My time in Ghana was instrumental in shaping some of my values, particularly the West African ideologies of community and servant leadership,” said Brea. “I’m very fond of the Adinkra symbol Sankofa meaning of “go back and get it” as a driver behind my willingness to always be ready to help.” “We are thrilled to have Brea join our team of dedicated and trained Program Facilitators,” said LEAD Founder and Executive Director Joy Nelson Thomas. “Brea’s life and work experiences will resonate so powerfully with the young women we serve as they develop, learn and grow to their full potential.”

Stephanie Booe is an author, content creator, blogger and speaker. She is celebrating her four-year anniversary of her book getting published and the recent launch of her new and upcoming blog! She has a degree in high school education with a concentration of English from UNC Greensboro. Her goal for a long time was to be a high school English teacher, but in her last semester of college, she realized this career path wasn’t going to be suitable for the life she envisioned for herself. After graduation, she became a preschool teacher and thoroughly loved working with two-year-olds until the world stopped in 2020. Like so many others, Stephanie found her true passion and calling during the pandemic when she was forced to slow down. She and her husband, Alex, had struggled with infertility when they were trying to build their family and, through her online platform on social media, Stephanie began to become a voice and advocate for the infertility community. She became a mom in 2020 and, slowly but surely, her career path skyrocketed as she launched her personal blog, published her first book (You Were Worth the Wait) and began to pursue speaking events. She is thriving as a content creator, writer, mother and wife. Her work is her ministry, and everything she does is done through the lens of positivity, fun and encouraging you to shine your light through your God-given talents!
