Erin McGoldrick is a proud single mother to her amazing six-year-old daughter, Lyla, who is autistic and soon to be a big sister. Lyla is not only Erin’s world but also her greatest joy, inspiration, and passion. Erin pursued a career in real estate, becoming a broker to create a life centered on love, strength, and flexibility—allowing her to care for Lyla in meaningful ways. Born and raised in King, NC, she is the daughter of Kevin and Karen McGoldrick and a devoted sister to her two brothers, whom she deeply cherishes. A graduate of West Stokes High School, Erin brings her strong family values and deep hometown roots into every aspect of her life. She is also a fierce advocate for the special needs, additional needs, and disabled community, using her voice to uplift and support others on similar journeys. Rebecca O’Donovan is a seasoned registered nurse with over 35 years of experience, whose passion for healing has always guided her professional journey. Along the way, she developed a deep love for skincare, which led her to attend aesthetician school and eventually open her own spa, The Skin Care Boutique, just last year. Her transition from traditional nursing to aesthetics highlights her unwavering commitment to helping others look and feel their best. At The Skin Care Boutique, Rebecca thoughtfully curates a range of products, proudly featuring offerings from local businesses—a reflection of her dedication to supporting her community and promoting high-quality, homegrown talent. Outside of work, Rebecca is a devoted community member and serves on the emergency response team at her church, always ready to lend a hand when it’s needed most. At the heart of her life is family. As a loving mother to five daughters and grandmother to nine grandchildren, she treasures time spent nurturing her loved ones, embodying the same compassion and care at home as she does in her career. Rebecca’s journey from nursing to entrepreneurship is a powerful example of purpose, resilience, and community spirit.
Kelsey Pelfrey is a physical therapist at Lyndhurst Gynecologic Associates (LGA). She earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sport Science at Coastal Carolina University before attending Winston-Salem State University for her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. “I am a former Division I athlete at Coastal Carolina University, where I played women’s lacrosse. After college and prior to graduate school, I worked as a caregiver with Home Instead Senior Care, supporting many clients with Alzheimer’s and dementia. This experience helped me grow as a future clinician, giving me insight into the everyday challenges my clients and their families face. As a physical therapist, I worked in a private practice setting for almost four years before joining the team at LGA! I am passionate about helping women and addressing a variety of pelvic floor dysfunctions that impact patients’ lives in so many ways. Outside of the clinic, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son, exercising, cooking, reading, and enjoying water sports!”
Shawn Byrd is the owner and manager of NLP Photo Booth Rentals NC, LLC. She celebrated her one-year anniversary in April of this year. “We are excited about what the new year will bring!” She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Winston-Salem State University and a master’s degree in reading education from Appalachian State University. In her spare time, Shawn enjoys biking, water sports, and reading. “I absolutely LOVE spending time with my granddaughter, Alani. She’s my BEST girl!”
Julia Hess is the founder and owner of Shae Studio and believes that good design changes lives. She has a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a Master of Science in Building Construction Science and Management from Virginia Tech. “I’m passionate about finding creative solutions that reflect my clients’ unique design needs and work within their budgets! I’m also passionate about making space for women in the AEC industry.” Julia is a licensed architect with a deep passion for thoughtful and intentional design. She is committed to crafting spaces where every detail is meticulously considered, ensuring that each project is a unique, custom solution tailored to her clients’ needs. Whether it’s a single-family home, a vibrant café, a dynamic gym or a welcoming park, Shae Studio’s projects prioritize connection, community, and purpose in every space.
