Women on the Move; April 2025

Yasmin Leonard is a photographer with Yasmin Leonard Photography. Photography has been a lifelong passion for her, beginning in childhood when she eagerly asked for a Polaroid at age eight and, later, a film camera. Long before documenting life was a trend, she was capturing moments at school, church and outings with friends. Though she majored in education and taught for nine years, she knew teaching wasn’t her forever path. Thirteen years ago, she photographed her best friend’s wedding, leading to 10 weddings that first year, and her career took off from there in what she calls “the biggest God thing.” Her work has been featured on the cover of Triad Weddings Magazine, published by Huffington Post and even seen on Good Morning America. In addition to photographing 15 weddings per year, Yasmin specializes in storytelling through portraits of business professionals needing branding images and high school/college seniors wanting to document this chapter of their lives. Her proudest achievement isn’t just her success but the ability to balance her thriving photography business with being a mom first. She and her husband have three children — a 13-year-old daughter, a 15-year-old son and a 21-year-old stepdaughter. Their family enjoys traveling, day trips and staying active when they aren’t on the ball field cheering on their kids.
