Welcome to Club Pilates!

Who should take a Pilates class?  That’s an easy answer – anyone and everyone!

Pilates is a fitness technique that has been around for over 100 years, originating in Germany by Joseph Pilates.  It’s an exercise that’s focused on posture, flexibility, and core strength.  While Pilates is embraced by professional athletes worldwide, Pilates is a fitness regime that is designed for anyone who wants to improve their range of motion, increase their flexibility, and just feel healthier and stronger.

Cleanliness at Club Pilates

In January 2020, Kristin Henry opened Club Pilates in Winston-Salem.  Centrally located in Thruway Shopping Center, Club Pilates was only open for two months when the COVID-19 Pandemic forced them to close.  “Despite the closure,” said Kristin, “We were very fortunate.  The community has quickly welcomed us, and we’ve established a wonderful network of members.  Throughout the weeks of quarantine, we offered our members free, virtual classes as a way to stay in touch and continue to support everyone.”

“We are excited to welcome back our current members as well as new members who are looking to join us for the first time!” Kristin continued ”We are happy to provide a clean place for people to exercise during these times.” She added “Our equipment is spaced at a comfortable 6’ distance, which gives everyone ample personal space.  At Club Pilates, we don’t share the toys. During class members use their own set of training equipment which is cleaned after each use. And with COVID-19 concerns on everyone’s minds, we have taken [removed “some”] extra steps to ensure everyone’s comfort and safety including air purifiers, touchless check-in, and increased cleaning.”

Teacher Training Program

For many, the economic impact of COVID-19 has forced them out of jobs and businesses.  Many are considering career changes.  “At Club Pilates, we offer a fantastic Teacher Training Program for anyone who is interested in making Pilates their career,” explained Kristin.  “I love this program as it opens the door for those who love Pilates to dive deeper into the practice and to have a positive impact on the health of the community.”

“Our Teacher Training Program,” she continued, “is a 500-hour program that is designed to fully equip new Pilates instructors – even those who have no experience! We are always looking for caring and compassionate individuals who we can mentor on the Pilates principles and exercises to become amazing instructors and community leaders.  The full program can be done within six months, or up to a year.” Kristin added “If anyone is interested in the Teacher Training Program at Club Pilates, they should contact me at the studio.”

“Opening our new studio in Winston has been an amazing journey. I’m thrilled to have such an amazing team and such wonderful members,” said Kristin. “I love being a small business owner in this community, and I look forward to years of growth together.  We can’t wait to welcome everyone to Club Pilates!”
