We’ve wrapped up summer and fall is officially here! So much has happened this year… Despite all the medical issues and the loss of my dad, I’ve managed to have a good summer. Brooke’s new dog, Carter, has been such a comfort to my heart! I love this grandpuppy of mine; it’s been so long, and I forgot how much I could love a dog!
It’s hard to believe that we’re already in October though. I love October. It’s a wonderful time of year. Busy… Oh, so busy! But I wouldn’t have it any other way.
On October 12th, we are going on our 15th Forsyth Woman annual shopping trip, and specifically – our 6th Annual Tour de Boutique! Originally a Consignment Shop Hop, the Forsyth Woman shopping trips have been an annual (and for three years – biannual) event since 2010! This is an event to be experienced to be fully appreciated! While I don’t consider myself a shopper, I save up all year to do some MAJOR shopping on this trip. It is so much fun to visit locally-owned boutiques with 60 friends – old and new alike! (Everyone becomes friends on Tour de Boutique Day!) This year is a sellout to the point that we had to find an overflow van! A special thank you to our friends at Fraleigh’s Boutique for loaning us their van for the day! And a special thank you to all our stores who offer such warm hospitality and special savings to our shoppers on Tour de Boutique Day!
This month, we’re also working on our two seasonal publications – FW Engaged is coming out at the end of this month and Forsyth Community will be coming out late-January. We are excited for you to see them! The cover for FW Engaged is AH. MAZ. ING. Be on the lookout!
Be sure to check out the Sober Sis story on pages 68-69! This program is really an incredible one – an eye-opening one. And one that I can relate to personally (refer to my own column on drinking, page 82).
October is also Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Please check out our cover story — WFBH Outpatient Imaging is featured! As you know, this is a very important topic to me. As a two-time survivor now, I am well-aware of how true the statistic is – 1 in 8 women will have breast cancer. As we recognize the importance of this month, please make plans to join us at the Rosé @ Medaloni Cellars Event on Tuesday, October 8th. Forsyth Woman is a proud sponsor of this event each year and all funds raised go towards providing free mammograms for women in need.
Finally – October 18this the Leadercast Women – Take Courage event, organized by the Lewisville-Clemmons Chamber of Commerce! You won’t want to miss this and you can find details on Lewisville-Clemmons.com, and our story on page 48.
As always, I’m so grateful for all of you! Please keep reading, keep sharing, and please always let our advertising partners know you saw them in this month’s issue!
