The View: May 2018

I saw a meme on Facebook as we were preparing for the May issue that said we had a new season this year called “Sprinter.”  A combination of spring and winter.  It certainly has felt that way, but I’m hoping and praying that we are FINALLY in the warm weather season.  I am more than ready for it.  How about you?

I love spring.  It’s such a beautiful time of the year and of course, so much to celebrate!  Most importantly – moms.  My mom is the best, and honestly, I don’t really need a reason to celebrate her.  I am so blessed to have her in my life. She has the most infectious smile as well as a genuine love for everyone she meets.  There really aren’t enough words to describe how special she is, but Marianne Schuler – please know how much I love you and how much you mean to your family.  I am so proud to be your daughter!

If you’re looking for the perfect Mother’s Day gift – make sure you read our cover story!  We are thrilled to share more about a longstanding local business, George K. Walker Florist!  George K. Walker has been a trusted resource to the Triad for years, and Forsyth Woman is proud to feature them on the cover of our May issue.

With May, I have another reason to celebrate! I’m super-proud of my daughter Brooke as we unveil another issue of Forsyth Woman Engaged!this month. Our biannual wedding publication has everything local brides need to plan their special day!  Brooke has done an outstanding job organizing this issue. If you or someone you know is getting married, please be sure to pick up a copy!

A great big thank you to everyone who has supported our Komen team and online auctions to raise over $10K!  We are so thankful for all your generosity as we collectively work together to support a great cause!

Let’s keep the celebrations going!  Whether you’re celebrating Mom, a new graduate, a birthday, a wedding, or simply a gorgeous day to dig in the garden – thank you for letting us be a part of your month!

With all that said, it’s time to read the newest issue of Forsyth Woman!  We hope you enjoy it and, as always, please show your support to our advertisers!  We can’t do this without them.  Their investment is what enables us to provide the magazines as a free community resource!

Enjoy the beautiful spring weather!
