The View from this Side

I can’t believe that it’s been a year since my dad died; there’s not a day that goes by when I don’t miss him.  It will certainly be a bit of a bittersweet Father’s Day but, in a way, a blessing.  I know this time of quarantine has been so hard on the elderly who can’t have visitors, and my dad would not have understood why we couldn’t see him.  Still, I miss him.

With that said, though, I am still so blessed with some amazing men I get to celebrate.  I want to wish my husband a very happy Father’s Day!  Tim is an amazing dad to our children, and we are all so lucky to have him!  We’ve really enjoyed our time together these last couple of months.  We’ve been working on projects together, and after years of each of us running our own respective businesses, we’re discovering what a great team WE make!

I also want to wish my step-father Charlie, a happy Father’s Day!  He’s been such a wonderful addition to our family for years!  We love him so much!

As I was finishing this issue, my kids, Brooke and Tanner, came to see us for a belated Mother’s Day weekend.  We haven’t seen them in weeks, so it was so great to see them!  Plus, we got to meet our new grandpuppy!  Tanner has adopted Ranger, and already, he and our other granddog, Carter, have become great friends.  It was a wonderful weekend full of play, laughter, and non-stop fun!

We’re so glad summer is finally here!  After winter, first spring, second winter, second spring, and third winter – we are so happy to have some sunshine and warmth in our days!  We hope you and your family can get outside more now and enjoy some time together!

Congratulations to the Class of 2020!  We know that this year’s graduation has been a challenge, but we are excited for you and wish you all the very best in your future experiences – whether college or career!

This month, we feature Your Home Marketplace on the cover of Forsyth Woman, and we hope you enjoy this article!  This is such a neat store, and you’ll find all kinds of fun gifts and home décor for yourself!

Also, this month, we unveil another issue of Forsyth Woman Engaged!  If you or someone you know is getting married, you’ll want to pick up your copy!  It’s stunning, and my daughter, Brooke, has done a fantastic job in very difficult circumstances!

Please keep being safe and remember – now, more than ever, it’s important to shop small, shop local!  Let your local businesses know you’re there for them, and be sure to tell our advertising partners you saw them in this month’s issue!
