The Publisher Perspective: March 2022

Did you know March is Women’s History Month? Forsyth Woman magazine is all about celebrating the lives of women, so this month—and issue—is extra special. Ok, ok, every issue is special! It seems every time we print a new one it’s my new favorite! This one is certainly no exception. Here’s a highlight reel of what you can expect in this issue of FW:

On March 1st Dress for Success Winston-Salem kicks off a new Women’s History Month Campaign called #EmpowerHer – 1 hour at a time. I am honored to have been chosen as one of the empowerment champions this year! Click here to read all about this campaign and the ten champions!

To end Women’s History Month with a bang, we’ll be having our first-ever Women on the Move Leadership Conference at WinMock on Monday, March 28th. We’ve been planning this for months and can hardly wait to see it come to life. The in-person tickets sold out in record time… But I have good news! If you couldn’t get an in-person ticket, you can tune in virtually! Watch it live (on March 28th) or watch it later. Purchase your virtual ticket at tinyurl.com/WOMConferenceV . Use promo code WOM5 for $5 off your virtual ticket!

The Forsyth Mags Foodie visited Hakka Chow this month and I had the pleasure of joining her. I’m a regular at Hakka Chow, but they really rolled out the red carpet for us! I am embarrassed to admit that I used to be a “California roll only” type of girl when it came to sushi… but Hakka Chow is the reason I started to branch out. Check out the full review HERE and be sure to follow @forsythmags on Instagram to see all of the fun behind-the-scenes of our Forsyth Mags Foodie experiences.

This past month we had an absolute BLAST at Village Inn Event Center for our Galentine’s Girls’ Night Out event. Check out a few photos from the event on our social media. An extra special thank you to the Village Inn, Megan Black Photography, It’s a Photo Booth Life, AlphaLit Triad NC, Hip Hip Hooray Balloons and Lei Lei’s Cuisine for making it an unforgettable event. Since we have the Women’s Conference in March, we won’t have a GNO this month, (look at us, setting those boundaries and keeping our sanity!) but stay tuned for details on our April GNO! To make sure you never miss a GNO, sign up for our newsletter! We send a GNO reminder out every month. You can subscribe at forsythwoman.com. Simply scroll to the bottom of the home page and type in your email address.

Speaking of April…save the date for April 27th! Second Harvest Food Bank is hosting its annual Empty Bowls Drive-Thru Event at the Bridger Field House from 11am – 6pm. I’ll be serving as the event chair this year and Keela and Robin as honorary chairs. We are incredibly honored to have been asked to take this role. We have a soft spot for Second Harvest Food Bank and love attending this event every year. We hope you’ll make plans to join us! Read more about the event HERE.

Wishing you a happy and healthy month of March!

All my best,
