The Barn on Country Club – Beauty & Charm in Every Detail

A visit to The Barn on Country Club is a treat for all the senses as you’ll likely take a step back in time, perhaps finding china reminiscent of your grandparents’ table, or feel those creative juices flowing while pondering a new painting project.

Renee Floyd, owner and manager, was inspired to start the business almost eight years ago, and her hands-on approach means you’ll find her in the shop daily, along with dedicated team members Hannah Parsons and Jeff Hoxworth.

Brimming with home décor, antiques and collectibles, The Barn on Country Club is a relaxing escape for shoppers who are drawn to vintage quality and charm. For those who may be contemplating a re-do at home and hope to keep costs down, consider the appeal of repurposed furniture – pieces that will look like new while adding unmistakable charm!

From Modern Farmhouse and Boho to Coastal or Traditional, Mid-Century Modern and Vintage, you’ll find something here for every style and budget, and the inventory at The Barn on Country Club is constantly changing.

“If you like it, buy it when you first see it!” said Renee. “We promise to help you find the right place for it in your home.”

While she loves every aspect of the business, Renee’s favorite moments are when a customer’s face lights up after finding the perfect piece for a certain space. She’s always eager to lend creative advice – inspired by her love for interior design and especially for repurposing furniture – and she knows the details of every item on the floor. Between estate sales, auctions and customers ready to downsize, there’s always something new to see. You can be sure Renee has carefully chosen every piece in the store and can likely share a little of its history. You may find a vintage piece that becomes your own new treasure to pass down one day or a statement piece from one of the charming vignettes. Weaving something that’s been well loved into your own décor story can make for an interesting aesthetic – and certainly provide a lively conversation piece!

Always eager to guide you, Renee offers some expert tips for choosing a piece of vintage furniture for your home:

  • Remember to measure your space before you shop. That saves time, energy and disappointment!
  • Establish the look and feel you envision for your space. Do you see a vintage piece working in your home?
  • Respect the history of the pieces you find here! Vintage furniture likely boasts a few flaws, but minor ones can be repaired. There’s always the option of painting a piece you can’t live without!

Adding a fresh new coat of paint to a favorite piece is actually a regular occurrence here. The Barn on Country Club is an authorized retailer for the popular Farmhouse Paint Company, and monthly painting classes are offered with paint instructor Dionne Jenkins. The store’s multi-level layout offers the perfect upstairs space for classes, girls’ day out or other group events. Painting classes are held once a month on Sundays from 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. – and you can BYOP – bring your own piece of furniture to paint.

If you’re intrigued by blending antiques with new items, furniture artist Mark Nyswonger is available at The Barn on Country Club to create custom pieces for your home including tables, bookcases, vanities or night stands. Stop by and browse photos of Mark’s beautiful work and see custom made examples showcased in different vignettes throughout the store.
