Supporting the 3P Auction Fundraiser: Empowering Women through Mammograms

October isn’t just about falling leaves and pumpkin spice lattes; it’s also a time to think pink. Breast Cancer Awareness Month, celebrated globally, focuses on spreading awareness about a disease that affects millions of women worldwide. In the United States alone, one in eight women faces the risk of breast cancer every year. As October approaches, we are reminded of the significance of early detection and the critical role it plays in saving lives.

The iconic pink ribbon symbolizes unity in the fight against breast cancer, and Breast Cancer Awareness Month is synonymous with various campaigns and programs conducted by a multitude of organizations, ranging from breast cancer advocacy groups to local community organizations and major retailers. It’s a time when we come together to emphasize the importance of breast cancer screening and prevention.

Mark your calendars for October 17th, as Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Outpatient Imaging, in collaboration with Forsyth Woman, Style Encore and Medaloni Cellars, presents Rosé @ Medaloni Cellars 3P Auction Fundraiser. This is not just any event; it’s an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of women in our community. The evening promises a lot of fun, with wine, a silent auction, fashion show, door prizes, along with food trucks and a live band, ensuring an unforgettable experience while contributing to a noble cause. A $10 admission includes a souvenir glass and first drink!

The proceeds from this fundraiser supports the 3P Fund (Positive Pink Power Fund), a vital initiative started by Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Outpatient Imaging seven years ago. The primary goal of the 3P Fund is to provide mammograms to women who, due to financial constraints, cannot afford this crucial screening. While health insurance typically covers preventive screenings, many women in our local community remain uninsured, causing them to delay these essential check-ups.

The challenges of access to healthcare have been further exacerbated by the unsettling statistics showing that an estimated 41% of adults in the US have avoided medical care during the pandemic. Since early 2020, breast cancer screenings have seen a staggering 89% reduction. This underscores the urgent need for initiatives like 3P in our community.

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Outpatient Imaging prides itself on being patient-centric, and their commitment to accessibility is unwavering. With two conveniently located facilities in Winston-Salem and Kernersville and flexible hours to accommodate busy schedules, they make it easy for individuals to schedule their annual screening mammograms. To make your own screening appointment, simply call the clinic directly at 336-765-5722, or visit their website at wakehealth.edu/mammogram.

The highlight of this awareness month is the 3P Auction Fundraiser, scheduled for Tuesday, October 17th, starting at 5 p.m. The venue, Medaloni Cellars at 9125 Shallowford Rd. Lewisville, NC, 27023, is set to come alive with the spirit of giving and unity as we gather to support a cause that touches the lives of countless women in our community. If you cannot make the event in person you can go online at any time through October 17th and make a donation at event.gives/mammograms

Breast Cancer Awareness Month serves as a poignant reminder of the importance of early detection and the impact it can have on individuals and families.
