Can you honestly think of a time – or a holiday season – when the feeling of “home” has been any more important than now? Those delicious tastes and smells are going to matter this season more than ever, and your favorite folks at Simply Southern Cuisine in Clemmons are determined to help you preserve those moments while making every day of your busiest season just a little easier!
Their mission – as always — is to provide irresistible food to entice your family to sit down together and celebrate each other, no matter the circumstances.
“We’re focusing on online ordering and curbside delivery,” explains Lisa Miller, owner of the popular family-owned business, but regulars know they can drop by and choose something for dinner in a pinch. “What’s not to love? Customers order and pay online, and let us know when they’ve arrived at the shop to pick up their food. No waiting in line!”
Simply Southern Cuisine has been offering curbside service since the end of March – finding that option their best tactic for navigating COVID-19. “We simply learned to adapt and adjust,” says Lisa, sharing how she and her staff look forward to serving customers with curbside pickup and online ordering during the holidays, as well calling ahead to place orders, or just stopping by at the last minute, to keep the tradition of “comfort food” alive and well for their families!
As a conscientious business owner, she feels that by not opening fully for shoppers to come inside, both her loyal customer base and dedicated staff are kept safe. Lisa is planning to add multiple phone lines, additional registers, and several new employees to balance the curbside and online trend.
“We’re also outgrowing our space, so another plan is to move our freezers and refrigerators into the previous customer area in order to give us more workspace in the kitchen,” she says. “That’s another incentive to remain with curbside pick-up for now.”
Catering has always been a major portion of Simply Southern Cuisine’s holiday business, and Lisa is confident neighbors and friends will remember their homemade goodness when it’s time to plan a family holiday gathering (even if there are fewer guests than normal!) or a socially distanced office lunch.
“Our family-size favorites are a tradition, and nothing eases your holiday rush like having a delicious, homemade dinner picked up hot and ready to serve – or if you prefer, frozen and ready to cook on your own schedule,” she says.
Even if you can’t be side-by-side with family members this year, delivering a holiday meal – complete with those traditional memories – may be the next best thing. Keep in mind Simply Southern Cuisine offers gift cards, too!
To tempt your tastebuds, Simply Southern Cuisine’s number one seller – chicken pie – ranks by far as the ultimate comfort food! Swiss chicken, baked spaghetti, and macaroni and cheese are also leading choices, plus a selection of the yummiest homemade desserts around. Of course, traditional turkey and ham are added to the menu for the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas, with special packages of a “Dinner for 6” or “Dinner for 15” – including ham and/or turkey, three sides, and dessert for a package price – and both can be found under the online ordering “holiday tab” to make your job even easier! (Note: Due to increased volume during the two holiday weeks, those combinations are not offered hot, but customers are referred to the catering menu for hot orders.)
Mark your calendar now: The deadline for Thanksgiving orders this year will be Saturday, November 21, and for Christmas orders, Saturday, December 19.
