Purpose Push: Grow Your Business, Keep Your Peace

Can you believe that, by the end of the month, we’ll be halfway through the year? I pray you’ve been crushing your business and life goals, and if you are, I pray even harder that you aren’t neglecting your peace. When 2025 started, I did not know what was in store for me and my jewelry business. In January’s column, I wrote about how it’s important to listen to what God wants you to do this year because He could be calling you to speed up or slow down.

You may have written some goals and submitted them to God, like I did. I realize I am in a season of stretching because He is calling me to build and propel for something great that’s nearby. Like a long-distance track runner, I’m at my “tempo pace,” and God does not want me to slow down. I also realize the warfare happening that’s forming weapons to attack my peace and incite worry about the remainder of the year, as God has me in a business wilderness. At the beginning of my business journey, I had no problem spending money to try things out because everything was an experiment. Now, I notice hesitation because I’m nervous of being in a bind.

If you find yourself in a similar place, know this is an opportunity for you to see how God will supernaturally provide. We have to trust what He said and find peace in this time of uncertainty, so we don’t rob ourselves of enjoying the journey.

Here are some ways to do that:

Talking to Others: I’m certain you have at least one person who is an expert at calming you down so you can think logically. No matter what you bring, they can always help you realize everything is actually fine. Talk to them often.

Invest in Systems: Many tools can make running your business easier. Use the money God poured into your business for the people, software and services that will take things off your plate so you can continue hearing from Him about your next steps.

Going to Church/Staying in the Word: If you stay in the Word and surround yourself with people who know God, you will be reminded that weapons can form against you, but they won’t prosper (Isaiah 54:17). You will remember that a wilderness season is God-ordained (Matthew 4:1). Until our very last breath, we will always need God to help us endure what this life throws at us.

Use God’s Strategy: The story has already been written and, as children of God, we won! So that means He knows exactly how to get you from points A to Z, so don’t question His plan and don’t delay. He knows what lies ahead, and you can rest easy knowing you can hear His voice when He tells you to go left or right, up or down. We actually have it easy; He does all the hard work.

I call the community I’m creating through my business, “Peacemakers,” and we’re guided by Matthew 5:9. Peacemakers are children of God, and it’s my calling to extend peace to you as well and help you find it. You are a part of God’s plan, and He brought you this far – He will not leave you (Deuteronomy 31:8). Find that peace and hold on to it. I have faith in you.
