This month marks 20 years of Forsyth Woman—and I can hardly believe it! You may have noticed our special anniversary logo on the cover. It’s a nod to our very first logo from 2006–2018, and I love that it brings our history full circle.
We’re so excited to celebrate this milestone with you on September 18th at The Crest Winston-Salem. The evening will be packed with signature cocktails and mocktails, incredible food, a live auction, music from our DJ, and plenty of photo ops. We’ll also have a photographer and videographer capturing every moment as we take a fun walk down memory lane. Grab your ticket by scanning the QR code on this page!
Even better—proceeds from the evening benefit LEAD Girls of NC, a local nonprofit that’s so dear to our hearts. Their mission is simple: Change a girl. Change a community. Change the world. I can’t imagine a more perfect partner for our anniversary celebration.
And now for a fun fact in honor of our big birthday: We’ve printed over 2.5 million copies of Forsyth Woman since 2005! Yes, 2.5 million! In this issue, you’ll find our 20-year timeline (beginning on page 66) highlighting milestones like our very first issue, our wedding magazine, Girls’ Night Out events, consignment shop hops, Tour de Boutique adventures, our podcast, our first office space, and so much more. What a ride it’s been and what a blessing to be part of this community for two decades.
Our September cover features the gorgeous ladies of Legacy Stables and Events, where our 2025 Women on the Move Conference was held…and where it will be again in 2026! This stunning venue is perfect for weddings, milestone celebrations, and corporate events. Trust me, if you haven’t been, you’ll want to put it on your list. (Read more on page 52)
September is also a month of other big anniversaries in our community:
- Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County celebrates 40 years! They’ve built nearly 450 safe, affordable homes for local families. I’ve had the honor of volunteering on build sites, and it’s an experience I highly recommend. There’s nothing like seeing a home come to life before your eyes. (Page 32)
- Etc. Consignment Shoppe turns 30! Owner Debbie has been a dear friend for years—we even used to run together. Her store has expanded countless times and is always full of treasures, from furniture to an incredible clothing selection. (Page 42)
- LKN Magazine—founded by my mom—turns 3 this month! She “retired” at the end of 2020… and then launched a magazine less than two years later. She’s built something amazing at the lake, and I couldn’t be prouder.
We’re also thrilled to sponsor Fizz and Beats Zero Proof Fest again this year—a vibrant event happening on September 20th with mocktails, food trucks, music, and a joyful, inclusive atmosphere. (Page 78)
As always, I hope you’ll enjoy this issue cover to cover. Follow us on Instagram @forsythmags and catch the Forsyth Mags podcast available on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and YouTube.
Here’s to an incredible September—and I hope to see you on the 18th to celebrate 20 amazing years with us!
