Sweet summertime is finally here! School’s out, the sun is shining, life feels a little slower and more relaxed this time of year… and I love it so much.

This month, we’re thrilled to feature Dr. Leigh Summer of Lewisville Laser and Aesthetics on our cover! Dr. Summer was my primary care physician when I was growing up, and now I trust her and her incredible team with all my aesthetics needs. From Botox and filler to laser hair removal and facials, they truly do it all. You can read more about LLA here!

This month also marks the 14th anniversary of one of my FAVORITE stores — Accent Prone! They’re reflecting on “14 Special Reflections” over the years, and I’ll admit… this one may or may not have made me tear up while reading it. Be sure to check it out!

And of course, June means Father’s Day! I couldn’t let this month pass without wishing my dad (aka Teej) a very happy Father’s Day. I wrote a little piece about him this month, reflecting on the quiet ways he’s shaped me over the years. I’m so grateful for his presence in my life, and I sure do love him. Read it HERE!

Looking ahead, next month we kick off another session of “Hot Girl Hour” at Washington Park CrossFit, and I truly couldn’t be more excited. This will be our SEVENTH six-week session of the program, which has become such a passion project for me.

So what is Hot Girl Hour? It’s six weeks at Washington Park CrossFit with a group of women only, led by female coaches, where my team and I teach the basics of weightlifting and gymnastics in a supportive, empowering environment. For many women, it’s their very first time touching a barbell — and I LOVE that so much. Our goal is simple: to help women get strong, take up space, and build confidence in the gym. We want every woman who comes through the program to feel comfortable walking into any gym and confidently picking up the bar.

The confidence I’ve personally gained through fitness is something I value deeply, so getting to share that with other women will always mean the world to me. Our next session begins Tuesday, July 7th. To learn more or reserve your spot, email [email protected]. These sessions always sell out, so don’t wait! And be sure to read about Amy’s experience with Hot Girl Hour!

Also, don’t forget to tune into the Forsyth Magazines podcast! You can listen on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or our YouTube channel. We release a new episode every Thursday featuring conversations with local business owners as they share their stories, wisdom, and experiences — and we get to know them a little better along the way.

Wishing you a summer full of sunshine, slower days, and plenty of time by the water (if that’s your thing).

All my best,
Brooke
