Pat’s Body Shop & Towing Keeps Your Motor Running and Muscles Growing

With cooler weather on the way, it’s time to make sure your vehicle is in perfect condition for the fall and winter months ahead. Want to make sure your headlights are bright and your heater is nice and toasty? Pat’s Body Shop & Towing, located on Country Club Road, offers top-notch customer service, complete automotive and collision repair services, and restorative services such as body repair, painting, and interior repair. As the days get shorter, the team at Pat’s Body Shop also offers 24/7 towing, making sure you’re covered around the clock.

Sandra Scarlette purchased the body shop in 1997, putting the shop on the map as one of the few woman-owned body shops in the nation. Previously owned by her brother Pat, Pat’s Body Shop is the 2nd largest woman-owned body shop in the United States. Under the ownership of Sandra, the shop has expanded from only performing collision work to performing complete interior work, mechanical work, restoration work on older cars, and even interior work on small airplanes. Sandra and her team are known across the country and internationally, having been featured in Bodyshop Business and FenderBender magazines. Additionally, Pat’s Body Shop was voted Best Body Shop in the Triad by Winston-Salem Journal Readers’ Choice Awards.

After earning her IHRA drag racing license, Sandra recently opened Scarlette Performance Parts Division at 5730 Country Club Rd in September. Customers can find racing apparel and gear, as well as all types of high performance parts for round track and drag racing within the new 3,000 square foot addition to Pat’s Body Shop.

With a ninth grade education and no trade school or technical education under her belt, Sandra used her determination, discipline, and drive to transform the shop into the success story it is today. However, her business acumen and strength don’t stop at the shop. As a bodybuilder since the early 1990s, the 64-year-old force to be reckoned with has shelves of trophies and awards on display in the shop, showcasing her first-class figure. If owning a body shop as a woman isn’t impressive enough, in a 1999 bodybuilding competition, Sandra placed first overall in her class after training for seven years and competing in two shows each year. At the age of 43, Sandra triumphed over numerous female competitors in their 20s. After suffering a horrible motorcycle accident in 2011, Sandra wasn’t sure if she would ever be able to walk again, much less continue her bodybuilding career. Astonishingly, she not only made a full recovery, but stepped on stage for the first time in 20 years and placed 4th in the 2019 Charlotte Cup.

Want to see Sandra in action outside of the body shop? Show your support and watch her compete in Quincy’s Elite Bodybuilding Competition in Greensboro this November, as she aspires to qualify for Nationals.

With so much expansion happening at the shop, Sandra is searching for tow truck drivers, body technicians, estimators, and parts counter help to join her team. Send resumes to patbodyshop@aol.com to apply for a position at Pat’s Body Shop.
