COVER STORY: For the Love… and FUN… of Dentistry!

Has anyone heard the old saying “Time flies when you’re having fun”? Well, it could not be truer for our office. As many of you may remember, we were fortunate enough to have relocated to Clemmons from Country Club Rd in Winston-Salem more than eight years ago and have not regretted a single minute. My staff of six (that have been with me from the beginning I might add) and I had heard this community was amazing and took a leap of faith, opening at our current location of 100 Stadium Oaks Dr., Suite A, Clemmons NC 27012 on April 18, 2011. To say that it was the best decision we could have made is putting it mildly!

We were on the cover of Forsyth Woman in February 2012 and are thrilled to have been asked again. In that edition, our tag line was “For the Love of Dentistry,” and that still holds true today. We love our work and our mission to serve our patients and to provide our utmost for their needs remains constant. There have been a few changes in eight years, but not many. Dr. Tyler Wynne joined our practice in November of 2018 and has been a true asset. Besides being an excellent practitioner, he often gets positive comments about his anesthetic technique. Patients are often shocked to learn that they have already been anesthetized when they didn’t feel a thing. Now THAT is a claim to fame in this business! Dr. Wynne relocated from the Raleigh area and has had quite a year. He bought a home in Winston-Salem, got engaged, and is planning a June wedding with his fiancé, Emily. He also became accredited and SMART certified with the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology.

Another wonderful change we had was in April of last year when Kim, our dental assistant of 18 years, expanded her family with a new son, Brody, and decided to focus all of her time and energy at home. But when one door closes another opens and we couldn’t be more thrilled with our latest addition, Megan. Megan has been in dentistry for five years and brings such a pleasant, youthful energy to the office. She resides in Pilot Mountain with her husband, Tyler, and two-year-old daughter, Emerson. She is fortunate in that she works closely with our two other dental assistants, Gerri and Lisa, who have more than 25 years of experience and have lots of knowledge to offer and share.

As with most dental offices, our love of dentistry starts at the front desk, so don’t be surprised when you phone and/ or visit that you are greeted warmly by our receptionist and office manager, Dawn. She has also been with our practice for 25 plus years and is always happy to help patients make appointments, answer questions about their dental insurance, and is also responsible for providing the fresh baked cookies that are served in our waiting area daily.

And last, but certainly not least are our hygienists, Haley and Teresa. We feel so fortunate to have not one but two terrific hygienists who have also been with us for many years. Haley and Teresa both pride themselves on helping our patients maintain healthy teeth and smiles and are always so gentle and caring. These two set a very high standard with their clinical abilities as all their patients will attest.

As for me, well…I just consider myself blessed to work in such a thriving, welcoming community doing a job I truly love with those I consider to be the most incredible staff in the world. But don’t just take my word for it. We would love to meet you and let you experience for yourself how special we try to be. See you soon!
