Balancing colors, fabrics, and the endless other intricate decisions necessary to create the perfect space for life or work, June DeLugas is a master of dazzling details and creative vision. From her regular Forsyth Woman blog, “Dear June” (where readers adore seeing her passion for her craft shine through!) to welcoming loyal followers and clients new to the area in need of design direction, she never misses the mark when it comes to marrying the “old” with the “new,” always in perfect harmony, while infusing current trends to keep things interesting.
Best of all, she makes it sound so easy!
“For example, take a beautiful console with exquisite curves and add a new, sleek pottery vase or small piece of abstract art,” says June. “You’ll fall in love instantly!”
If reading this already has you re-imagining your own view – at home or at the office – let June DeLugas Interiors tempt you with some amazing possibilities. A full-service design firm in Clemmons, NC, it truly is a client’s one-stop shopping experience for retail and design expertise, for both residential and commercial projects. June and her team also act as construction designers for new homes, providing turnkey remodeling for residential projects, and specializing in kitchen and bath remodeling.
If you’re updating your current home or building a new private sanctuary for your family, or your commercial space needs a refresh and a facelift, her enthusiasm and talent for making a room simply flow are unmatched! And her creative team – Patty Grogan, Maddy Blevins, and Ellen Carr – keep her grounded and inspired every day, as each brings a unique skill set to the design table.
An Enlightened Start
Even as a young girl, June recognized the power of style and good design and their effect on the comfort we crave in our daily lives. Always in love with each heirloom passed down to her from family members, June discovered the emotional riches in a handful of special pieces, and instilled that same appreciation in her daughter, Megan (sure to be passed to her granddaughter as well!).
When June opened her design firm in 2002, she had outgrown her working space at home, and knew it was time to offer clients an inviting setting to browse, and actually experience the feel of all the samples of design elements she offers. From a variety of granite, fabrics (she has the largest fabric library in the area!), wood finishes, luxury bedding, and wallpaper, to window treatments, accessories, antiques, lighting, rugs (she’s seeing some amazing antique patterns lately!), carpet, and paintings by local artists, the team can order even your hardest-to-find request from a listing of over 500 manufacturers, including as many local vendors as possible.
The recently redesigned showroom beautifully showcases all the elements needed to create the perfect living space for your family from start to finish, with everything needed to reflect your personal style – no matter how traditional or how edgy!
“Everything from A to Z – it really is all right here,” June explains.
Her husband, Fred, is also very involved in the business and is always ready to lend a hand with creative projects around the store – think shelving and display areas that showcase products and vignettes designed to give you the “feel” of how everything fits together.
Locally Established & Still Growing
Based in Clemmons, but with a loyal following and client base that extends from Winston-Salem, Lewisville and Clemmons, to Advance, Burlington, Greensboro, Lexington, Mocksville, and the Lake Norman area, June knows the industry well – including top professionals in real estate and home building – and has built strong working relationships with the area’s top contractors in both remodel and redesign.
As we’ve all navigated a variety of new scenarios over the past year, June also notes the percentage of northerners choosing to relocate to North Carolina is impressive. Transplanted families are opting for larger homes, and are typically redoing their new spaces from top to bottom, with June’s artful assistance and keen eye for detail. As is the case with so many industries, shipping issues remain unresolved, and wait time for completed projects can add to the stress of building or remodeling. But working as a team and staying on top of communication between designers, vendors, and clients eases the process, and June’s more than 25 years of decorating experience have taught her patience and poise!
While her mornings and afternoons are spent on creative pursuits, her evenings are often set aside for paperwork and the more tedious tasks of owning a business. But she – and her family and staff – wouldn’t have it any other way. Passion makes perfect, and the firm’s impressive client and project list speaks for itself!
