Hustle & Heart….Low Lift Marketing: Why Simplicity Beats Overwhelm Every Time

You want your business to speed up, but your life isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Between family, work and life balance is harder to come by than the life coaches on Instagram make it seem so the idea of more marketing feels exhausting!

If you’ve put any research into your marketing plan, I’m sure you’ve heard about the trends to follow, the Canva “hacks” to try, the best times to post and the platforms everyone and their mother is having success on. The truth is more effort does not equal more money or success. Which is why I will preach a minimalist marketing strategy all day to clients because I want business owners to put time towards what’s working and eliminate anything that doesn’t.

Overwhelmed Business Owners Don’t Stay in Business

When we talk about a minimalist marketing approach it’s not about doing less just for the sake of doing less. I want your marketing to support your sales goals while allowing you enough time to work on the other things in your business where you are needed most. Let’s step away from creating content that drains our time and energy and embrace a simple marketing structure we can rinse and repeat.

Audit What’s Working (Remove the Busy Work)

Start by getting up close and personal with your current marketing and ask yourself what’s actually converting from posts to profit? Now what is getting likes or views but actually turning into inquiries, bookings and sales. Is there content that tends to lead to conversations in your DMs? Do specific platforms drive more traffic to your inquiries? Which offers are gaining traction and which aren’t?

The hardest part of moving to a more minimalist marketing strategy is honesty. Reducing and removing efforts around content that isn’t helping your business is a strategy in itself. Your goal isn’t to show up everywhere doing everything – it’s to be effective and efficient.

Simplify Your Content Efforts

Business owners who have been in business more than five years have seen that content has become a full production studio worth of effort for some entrepreneurs. Most of our audiences genuinely don’t need perfectly curated and overly designed content to build trust or buy from us. They are looking for connection and clarity around who we are and the value we offer.

Give yourself permission to trade the unnecessary for the easy! You can absolutely build content that doesn’t take hours but still makes an impact. Create Instagram carousel templates that star one core photo with different captions on each slide or build out a weekly email with plug and play boxes you can easily input copy and photos. Your marketing motto is “low lift!”

Build Audience Recognition via Rinse & Repeat Systems

Good content doesn’t have to mean reinventing the wheel! After auditing your marketing, you can lean into what your audience connects with most and create repeatable elements that become part of your brand identity. Think about a reels series you can build around one of your core teachable themes in your business? Is there a signature carousel format that you utilize weekly? Can you implement a “tip of the week” Instagram story or share behind the scenes of your business every Saturday?

This is going to help you remove decision fatigue from your marketing steps as well as create something recognizable for your audience. Take out the “what should I be posting/creating?” from your strategy and you start to realize the exhaustion goes right out the door with it!

Less Noise. More Impact.

Despite the pressure social media may bring to create more content, choosing clarity over the chaos of keeping up makes all the difference. Get intentional about refining your strategy and simplifying your content for a marketing plan that feels approachable and exciting for both you and your customers!

Hustle & Heart Challenge

This month, audit your marketing to see what’s wasting time and trade it for a new rinse & repeat content piece like a carousel template or reel series you can build a plug and play template for!
