Forsyth Foodie: Bermuda Run

At Bermuda Run Country Club you’ll be greeted with friendly smiles, spacious dining options and delicious food located at their main clubhouse in their East Dining Room, popularly known as Ariston’s. There is both indoor seating with large windows and an outdoor patio suite with a fireplace for those chillier evenings, all met with refined elegance and premier service. So, whether it’s for a relaxed evening with the family, Sunday brunch, gameday gatherings, or a quick bite before you tee off, it’s safe to say that Bermuda Run Country Club offers more than what meets the eye!

First up on the menu were two starters that were fresh, seasonal, and flavorful! The first was their Char-Grilled Oysters with a Garlic Parmesan Butter twist that’ll transport your taste buds to the Gulf Coast. It was served with a fresh salsa for a little added spice kick and on a bed of lettuce greens.

The second starter was their Watermelon Feta Salad that was crisp, juicy, and the perfect salty-sweet combination of flavors. The tossed salad consisted of baby lettuces, ripe watermelon, thinly sliced red onions, feta cheese, cracked black pepper, and a lightly sweet white balsamic vinaigrette to meld the flavors together. This unexpected concoction of ingredients will surprise in only the best way!

Moving on to the entrees, the first was a classic Char-Grilled Filet Mignon with Forest Mushroom Demi-Glaze and Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes. The Filet Mignon was tender, buttery, and mild in flavor for a melt-in-your-mouth, piece of steak. And when paired with the forest mushrooms, it balances out the earthy notes while enhancing the juicy steak flavor to the next level.

The next entree we had the opportunity to taste was a Sauteed North Carolina Rainbow Trout that was flaky, tender, and seasoned to perfection. It was paired with a Parsley Lemon Beurre Blanc that was light and creamy, as well as a side of Savory Herb Couscous that was fresh, herby, and had a hint of lemon at the end!

Bermuda Run Country Club loves supporting fellow local businesses, and one is a local young baker, DJs Cheesecakes, who provides them with a variety of his sweet goodness weekly. And because no dinner can be complete without a little sweet, we had a sneaky taste of one of his featured desserts of the week, the Strawberry Crunch Cheesecake.

This cheesecake immediately took me back to childhood summers when the ice cream truck would ride through the neighborhood since it replicates those classic Strawberry Shortcake Ice Cream Bars. The cheesecake layer itself was fluffy and light with a strawberry cake layer and strawberry crunch on top for the perfect sweet tooth fix.

Thank you, Bermuda Run Country Club and staff, for the beautiful meals enjoyed by a spectacular view. Now, if your stomach is grumbling, here is your sign to join Bermuda Run Country Club so you can grab the family for lunch or a friend for golf and tell them that the Forsyth Mags Foodie said hi!
