Celebrating 20 Years of Forsyth Woman

We can hardly believe it—Forsyth Woman is turning 20 years old!

What started back in 2005 as a 26-page, partially black-and-white, newspaper-style magazine has grown into a vibrant, full-color, glossy publication with more than 100 pages each month. Through the years, one thing has never changed: our mission to celebrate, connect, and uplift our community.

At our core, Forsyth Woman has always been about supporting local—whether that means small businesses, entrepreneurs, community leaders, or everyday women making a difference. We believe in the power of storytelling, the strength of collaboration, and the magic that happens when women come together.

Two decades later, we’re still here, still inspired, and still passionate about empowering women in our community. And honestly? We’re just getting started.

A Look Back: 2005 vs. 2025

We’ve come a long way in 20 years! Here are a few fun throwbacks to remind us how much life (and Forsyth Woman) has changed since 2005:

  • In 2005, Facebook was only for college students. In 2025, you can follow Forsyth Mags on Facebook andInstagram!

  • In 2005, Carrie Underwood won American Idol. In 2025, she’s still touring—and yes, we’re still obsessed.

  • In 2005, flip phones ruled. In 2025… you’re probably reading this on your iPhone 17.

  • In 2005, our very first issue of Forsyth Woman hit the stands. In 2025, we’ve published 240 issues—and counting!

  • In 2005, Starbucks launched the Pumpkin Spice Latte. In 2025, PSLs are still iconic.

  • In 2005, you made mix CDs for your car. In 2025, your playlists live on Spotify and Apple Music (and yes, now we even have a Forsyth Magazines podcast!)

Did You Know?

  • Our very first cover featured Fox8 News Anchor, Cindy Farmer

  • We’ve printed over 2.5 million copies of Forsyth Woman since 2005

  • We’ve hosted more than 150 Girls’ Night Out events (with plenty more to come!)

  • Our beloved “Women on the Move” column is the only feature that’s appeared in every single issue—spotlighting over 1,000 women!

  • Founder Keela Johnson launched Forsyth Woman with zero publishing experience—just a dream, determination, and a whole lot of heart.
