With her incredibly qualified team of contractors by her side, founder and owner Minnie Aikens has continued to grow her business – Busy as a Bee Concierge – since its opening in 2009. A whirlwind of ideas and strategies, Minnie and her tireless professionals continue to perfect their organizational skills, all with your busy life in mind!
When overwhelmed clients first enlist Busy as a Bee’s services, it’s usually because their end goal is a happy, healthy, more stress-free lifestyle, either on a daily basis or when it’s time to make a move.
“Our services give them the freedom to focus on what matters most, and to live out the lives of their dreams,” says Minnie. The concept of home organization can be life-changing.
“It allows you to have more time for family and friends, not spending that precious time looking for things,” Minnie explains. “We believe there is a place for everything in your home. By creating an efficient and focused environment, confidence is instilled in each family member to know where things are.”
RELOCATION
With relocation the largest segment of the business, the company’s Moving & Relocation Team keeps busy with the necessary tasks that come with relocating a family. Having completed moves in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Virginia, the team is focused, efficient, and personable, while accomplishing their goals:
- Packing and unpacking as directed.
- Organizing rooms, closets, bookshelves, and drawers.
- Making beds with fresh linens, folding, and putting away other linens and towels.
- Closet organizing and coordination.
- Furniture staging.
- Scheduling utilities and other services to be in place when the family arrives.
“Our family recently moved to the Winston-Salem area, and between contractors, vendors, movers, and our family and career moves, it promised to be a very stressful time,” says a local professor/scientist. “Minnie and her team took so many worries off our plate! With a team of five industrious, courteous co-workers, they had unpacked every box, organized every drawer, and offered some interior design tips. Within 48 hours of the movers delivering our boxes, Busy as a Bee had some of our rooms looking like a magazine layout — even my husband’s tool shop! I have moved many times and had no idea what it meant to have ‘professional unpackers.’ Now, after meeting Minnie and her team at Busy as a Bee, I would never move without them!”
THE ABSENTEE HOMEOWNER
Another unique part of the business, Minnie explains the concept of the “absentee homeowner.”
“These clients may be retired but travel several months out of the year, or they split their time between homes in two different states,” says Minnie. “Our team checks their home for anything unusual or out of the ordinary, a general welfare check, to make sure everything is running as if you were still home,” she explains. For homeowners who are away, Busy as a Bee also coordinates deliveries, installations, and manages all outside vendors such as pest control, plumbers, and cleaning services.
The satisfied client is what continues to build this successful venture!
“Busy as a Bee checks on my house when I am out of town,” says Linda, a happy client. “While making rounds during recent heavy rains, they spied pooled water on a basement floor. She alerted me, and I was able to get a contractor out who identified collapsed drains. Without them, we wouldn’t have known, and the problem would have worsened.”
“Our experience with Busy as a Bee’s team has been nothing less than superlative,” raves traveling homeowner, Ray. “We trust Busy as a Bee with keeping our home safe and well-tended when we are at our residence in California. I travel a lot for business and drive to the house after long days and late flights. Since we delegated the day-to-day running of our home to Busy as A Bee, I have learned to trust them to get everything done with efficiency and precision. When we return to our Winston-Salem house, we can always count on it being well-stocked, secure, and without the maintenance surprises a homeowner fears! Minnie keeps tabs on every detail, catching things we miss. Plus, every email, text, and phone message has that gracious touch that is the hallmark of a well-run service business!”
