Five-Minute Beauty Routine for Women on the Go

I love having a simple morning makeup routine. Although I have never been one to wear heavy makeup, I do enjoy wearing a little makeup. I enjoy putting on makeup before I go to work each day as this routine allows me to have a few minutes of self-care before my day gets busy. You definitely have to try different makeup products to see what you like and what works for your skin, but once you find products you like, it makes your routine so enjoyable.

I will say, the hardest part of putting together a makeup routine is finding the right products to use. There are so many products available to purchase that it can oftentimes feel overwhelming. I recommend that if you are looking for a new product to use to spend time researching online about specific products to help you not feel so overwhelmed by the hundreds of choices available to purchase. Below, I will share my five-minute beauty routine that you can follow each morning that allows you to still have plenty of time for breakfast, coffee and getting out the door on time.

Step 1: Tinted Moisturizer or Foundation: I always start my makeup routine by putting on either a tinted moisturizer or foundation. On days that I want a more natural, glowy look, I use a tinted moisturizer. I love using a tinted moisturizer because it truly does give me a natural makeup look. I can tell that I have light coverage on, but I am still able to see the freckles on my face, so I know it is not too heavy. On days that I want a more true makeup look, I will use a foundation that gives me more coverage. I will typically wear foundation when I have special events to go to. I use my hands to apply my tinted moisturizer and a foundation brush to apply foundation.

Step 2: Face Powder: After I put on either my tinted moisturizer or foundation, I will put a face powder over my entire face to help the liquid makeup set better and to also provide a little more coverage. You can typically choose from either a loose powder or pressed powder for your face. I will use a pressed powder as this type of powder is not as messy, and I will apply the powder with a soft powder puff.

Step 3: Highlighter: One of my favorite steps in my makeup routine is putting on my highlighter because I always choose highlighters that are sparkly. I love putting a little highlighter on my cheekbones to help give me a pretty shimmery look throughout the day. I switch between using both pressed highlighters and liquid highlighters. I use a soft brush to apply pressed highlighter and my fingers to apply liquid highlighter.

Step 4: Your Preferred Eye Makeup: Honestly, as far as eye makeup goes, I am not the best with using eye makeup. I do not wear mascara, but I do enjoy using a little sparkly eyeshadow occasionally. I have a hard time wearing mascara because it tends to smear easily, but I do enjoy wearing eyeshadow. For this step, you can choose what specific type of eye makeup works best for you in your routine.

Step 5: Done!

These simple steps show that you do not have to spend a long time doing your makeup routine if you are in a rush. It is easy to put together a quick, five-minute beauty routine in the mornings. I know that I always enjoy spending time putting on my makeup to get ready for the day ahead of me since I do not have too many steps to take to complete my routine. I hope that this article will help women who are busy to see that having a makeup routine does not mean it has to take a long time and that even a quick beauty routine can give you a few minutes of peace and quiet before your day begins.
