Whether you dine out with family, friends, or coworkers on May 1st, by participating in the 22nd annual Hope du Jour, you will be joining thousands of people in Forsyth County who look forward to this community tradition. Like many others, I ponder among the over 100 participating restaurants until the last minute, when I finally make up my mind about where to eat.

Good news! Casanova’s fudge is back! Many loyal fans of Adele Casanova’s fabulous fudge truffles can now rejoice as they enjoy her unique confections. Adele and her shop manager, Cindy Cenedella, launched their business, Casanova’s Confections, in the Triad on March 1, 2012.

In Uganda, Sabina spent 5 hours each day walking to get water for her family, water that was dirty and often made her children sick. In rural Ethiopia, 95% of births take place without a trained medical attendant.
