Staying Cool for Under $10.00

When all you want to do is sit inside and stay by the air conditioning, it is hard to think about enjoying any outdoor fun. But I am going to tell you 5 things you can do for under $10.00 , that might make you want to get out our your cool air conditioned house!
1. Gelato/Ice Cream. We have plenty of ice cream parlors or stores to choose from. And guess what? They are all inside in the AC. So frequent one of your local favorites today!
2. Putt-Putt. Remember when you were a kid and you used to love to play it? Well your kids love it too. I have found that I am much better at it now that I am an adult. Oh, and guess what? They have an arcade that is INSIDE!! But so are the games, and that would be another splurge!
3. Museum/SciWorks. We have several museums that are entertaining and don’t require an application of sunscreen.
4. Games. You can find great deals on games at Target or WAL-Mart. We have been playing the classic game CLUE and it is really great family entertainment!
5. Movies. The cinemas are having Summer Movie days on Tuesday. They play a classic movie and popcorn and drinks are only $1.00. Yes, ONLY $1.00. You can’t beat that with a stick!!
So go on out and venture into that bright, hot sun! It may feel miserable in the heat, but you will feel cool saving on these summer splurges!!

Money Monday…A few Splurges for the Summer

Today is Monday, and I thought what a good day to blog about money, deals and tips. I am calling it Money Mondays! Now at first, I was going to talk about debt, but that isn’t a fun topic for a Monday morning, so I decided to talk about splurges for the summer! Here are a few ideas :
1. A fancy meal! Consider going out and making a memory instead of cluttering your home with new purchases.
2. A new handbag or purse. You always need a bag to carry to the beach, pool or office. You can find great deals at Bradsdeals.com. They are always changing their inventory, so there is always something for everyone!
3. A getaway! Southwest airlines and other airlines are offering sweet deals on airfare this summer. If you are flexible, there are some great deals to be had!
4. A new outfit! You will need something for that great getaway and retailers are just begging shoppers with the sales to come in and make purchases!
5. Starbucks is offering free Wi-Fi, so you get more out of your coffee with free internet and no time restrictions or passwords!!
6. New Shoes. A comfortable pair of shoes is priceless, but you don’t have to pay a high price! Check out websites like Zappos.com, which offers few return shipping!
So what are you waiting for? Go out there and splurge a little for the summer. Just remember to wear a life vest and not go overboard!!!
