Treasure

The word “consignment” evokes mixed emotions for me. The thought of finding amazing treasures can sometimes seem like a chore, given the wide variety of consignment stores in the Forsyth area. So imagine my relief the first time I walked through the doors of Treasures Décor Consignments.

I knew right away that this place was different. Tucked in the booming Clemmons community behind McDonald’s on Lewisville-Clemmons Road, the store has a commanding presence. Vickie Boyd, the owner, probably noticed the baffled look of awe on my face when she greeted me, asking if I had ever been here before. “No.” “Let me show you how it works,” she offered.

As she began showing me around her store, she explained how to read the price tags. The price of the item drops over time by a set percentage. You can choose to wait a few days if you want a better price, but this also means accepting that someone else might buy it instead. Shoppers in every price range will be glad to know they are welcome here. I picked up a gorgeous miniature treasure chest that was already at its lowest price, and wasn’t able to put it down. Perhaps it was knowing that I was getting an amazing deal, or perhaps it was the quality of items throughout the store that cured my “consignment blues.”
