Todd’s Easy Moves in Winston-Salem is there to help with your every need when it comes to packing, moving, shipping, and storing items either locally, state-wide, or out-of-state. Whether you’re headed to a new home, need to move a piano, or are looking for a storage space to hold those boxes of holiday decorations, Todd’s Easy Moves, an agent for Wheaton World Wide Moving, will assist you in the entire process.
Todd Cummings, the owner of the family owned and operated Todd’s Easy Moves, along with his wife, Karen, have been serving the Triad since 1984. Todd’s Easy Moves is a member of the North Carolina Movers Association, and is authorized through the North Carolina Utilities Commission.
“We offer packing, crating, boxing, and shipping materials; vault and self storage; and our movers will disassemble, pad wrap, and reassemble your household furniture,” says Karen Cummings, Member Manager of Todd’s Easy Moves, adding that special runners are used to prevent the scratching of hardwood floors in homes.
Todd’s Easy Moves uses 35 ft. trucks with solid oak floors, and are fully equipped with hand trucks and dollies; tie-downs; cardboard, bubble wrap, and quilt packing materials; and 16-20 ft. enclosed cargo trailers for overfill. In addition, Todd’s Easy Moves specializes in moving larger items, such as hot tubs and pool tables, and delicate items, such as grandfather clocks and pianos.
All packing done by Todd’s Easy Moves’ professional moving staff is insured and guaranteed. Packing materials are available for purchase, and include various sized boxes, paper, tape, packing material, and furniture bags, among other items.
In addition to packing and moving, Todd’s Easy Moves specializes in warehouse and self-storage, and is the home of the Mini Todds, 5×8 storage units with a full-sized, easy-to-open door, and weatherproof tarpaulin covers. All Mini Todds are stored indoors at Todd’s Easy Moves’ warehouse on Starlight Drive in Winston-Salem. Mini Todds are useful for college students storing dorm room items over the summer; seasonal storage, such as clothing and holiday decor; and any items that may be in the way during a remodeling project, home consolidation, or garage makeover.
Todd’s Easy Moves also offers storage units inside a 40,000 sq. ft. warehouse, and “Each partitioned unit has its own door,” Todd says, “which will be locked with your own padlock. For added security, all access to units is controlled.” Self-storage units range in size from 5×5 ft. to 10×20 ft., and can also accommodate boats, RVs, and cars.
In addition to being one of the premier movers in the Winston-Salem area, Todd’s Easy Moves has joined forces with the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina in MOVE For HUNGER, an effort to end hunger.
Todd notes that, “Approximately 40 million people relocated in the United States in 2008. MOVE For HUNGER is an organization that collects unwanted, non-perishable food from those who are relocating. Our professional moving staff will assist in boxing the donations during the moving process. MOVE For HUNGER will then make arrangements for these items to be delivered to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina.”
Teaming up with Wheaton World Wide Moving and its agents, Todd’s Easy Moves will, with your help, bring relief to those in need. Todd’s Easy Moves provides a box for any canned good or nonperishable food item to anyone using their services.
“People can put cans or any unopened, nonperishable food into the box, which will be taken to the Second Harvest Food Bank,” says Karen, adding that all donations are recorded on a food donation chart. “We want to raise awareness of hunger,” says Karen. “I am amazed at the millions of people going hungry, including kids.”
Todd adds, “With your support, we will turn the average food drive into one of the nation’s largest, year-round service programs, strengthening our communities’ food banks and influencing millions across this great country. It is during these trying times that our nation’s charitable organizations most need your support.”
