Nestled in Buena Vista on the outskirts of West End, Rebecca & Co. of Winston- Salem is the perfect destination for top quality ladies’ clothing. Rebecca Byrd opened Rebecca & Co. 16 years ago in Winston-Salem, adding to her Greensboro location. After meeting Lisa Campbell in 1991, Rebecca asked her if she would manage the Winston-Salem store in 1995.
Lisa is no stranger to the retail world and has always been interested in the retail business. She shares a childhood story of how she got started. “As a child I loved to play store. I would empty out the groceries from the refrigerator and set up a produce stand in the front yard. I would make my mom pay for her groceries in order to cook supper.” Her enthusiasm for fashion grew over the years and she credits her mother for teaching her the value of fine, quality clothing. Even if they were shopping the sale racks at luxury apparel stores, they searched for the quality garments.
If you grew up in Winston-Salem, you may recall Buddies and Montaldo’s clothing stores. If you shopped at either, you no doubt saw that infectious smile of Lisa’s because she worked at both of those locations. She was also the store manager of Limited Express. Lisa has managed the Winston-Salem Rebecca & Co. for 16 years, and just this past September she became the owner!
Rebecca & Company of Winston-Salem is unique, carrying the latest styles and fashions (often seen in magazines) with a strong emphasis on customer service. Lisa says, “We really care about our customers! It is important for us to give our customers as much assistance as they need and the best service. When shopping in department stores, customers rarely receive one-on-one service or really much help at all. We strive to make our customers’ shopping experience enjoyable, fun and special.” You’ll see that they accomplish these goals when you visit.
