It is not often that a business owner revamps an entire location for the main purpose of bringing more to his customers. Well, that is exactly what John Edwards, co-owner of Big Shotz Tavern in Winston- Salem, decided to do.
“We saw an opportunity to join forces with a really talented young chef and bring he surrounding neighborhoods a more upscale dining experience with affordable prices,” said John.
The young chef is Trevor Dye, who has already made quite a name for himself in the area. After graduating from Johnson and Wales in 1998, Trevor began working at Noble’s Grille in Winston-Salem and in High Point. From here, he decided to try his hand at restaurant ownership and opened Meridian Restaurant in downtown Winston-Salem, where he served as co-owner and perator for five years. When Trevor decided to get back to focusing on his craft, he met with John about the idea of revamping Big Shotz Tavern into more of a dinner house” restaurant for those craving more out of this local institution. It didn’t take long before Buena Vista Grille was born.
