For the stylists at Progressive Image Salon & Day Spa, achieving excellence in client services begins with a foundation of talented, experienced and knowledgeable staff, all sharing a common philosophy of having a servant’s heart toward their clients and each other. “Each of us has a sincere desire and passion to do our best by each other and for our clients on a daily basis; that has been our belief since we opened our doors in 1993,” said Michele Dapp, co-owner and stylist.
A Shared Focus Makes Great Business Sense When a woman sets her mind on doing something, watch out – but when four women set their minds on a common goal with a shared focus, you can pretty much count on that something becoming reality. Such was the beginning of Progressive Image Salon & Day Spa. “We, the owners, all met while we were working at another local salon and began talking about how we would operate our own salon. We knew we wanted to make client service our priority, but also focus on a positive atmosphere for our staff. As women and co-workers, we recognize each others’ strengths and weaknesses, building up and supporting each other, both professionally and personally. The relationship that we have as a team comes through and shows to our clients,” stated Kelly Flanagan, co-owner and stylist. Beyond the cohesive team that the 11 stylists, 4 receptionists and 3 spa technicians have formed is their combined 200 years of experience in the business. “Each of the owners has over 20 years of experience and then when you add in the experience our other stylists have, it adds up quickly. Most of our staff has been with us over 10 years, some from the very beginning, and that says a lot about our team and how we feel about not only the salon and spa, but about each other as well. We recently rewarded Julia Norman, our client concierge and manager, as well as stylist Amy Shoemaker, with shareholding opportunities due to their years of service. Our clients like the fact that we have a very low turnover in staff and they know they will see familiar faces with each appointment and that we know their names,” Debbie Jones commented.
